The Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers meet Saturday in MLB action from Dodger Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Boston Red Sox vs LA Dodgers Prediction.
Starting Pitching Matchup
The Boston Red Sox will send out Brayan Bello here and Bello is 10-5 with a 5.32 ERA and 83 strikeouts this season. This will be Bello’s first career start against the Dodgers. Justin Wrobleski will start for the Dodgers here and is 0-1 with a 6.30 ERA and 8 strikeouts this season. This will be Wrobleski’s first career start against Boston.
Boston Red Sox Recap
The Boston Red Sox will try to rebound after starting the series with a frustrating 4-1 loss in Friday’s series opener. The late loss for Boston put their series win streak in jeopardy heading into Saturday after taking down the Royals, A’s and Yankees all prior to the all-star break.
Red Sox Still Surging In AL Playoff Chase
Going into Friday, Jarren Duran leads the Red Sox with 113 hits along with 22 stolen bases, 27 doubles, 10 triples and 98 strikeouts and also has 41 RBIs so far this season. Wilyer Abreu has 20 doubles and Ceddanne Rafaela also has 52 RBIs while Rafael Devers has 92 hits with 18 doubles, 23 home runs, 61 RBIs and a .295 batting average this season. Tyler O’Neill also has 16 home runs and 31 RBIs as well while David Hamilton has a team-high 23 stolen bases this season.
Los Angeles Dodgers Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers come into game two of the series building some momentum after a late-inning triumph in Friday’s opener, putting the Dodgers in a good spot to rebound from their back-to-back series losses to the Tigers and Phillies going into the all-star break.
Dodgers Still Ruling The Roost In NL West
Entering Friday’s matchup, Shohei Ohtani has 117 hits including a team-high 29 home runs, 23 doubles and 69 RBIs with a .316 batting average while Mookie Betts has 86 hits with 16 doubles, 3 triples, 10 homers and 40 RBIs of his own, but continues to miss time because of an injury. Teoscar Hernandez also has 19 home runs with 62 RBIs and a team-high 113 strikeouts. Betts also has 9 stolen bases while Ohtani has a team-high 23 stolen bases. Freddie Freeman also has 61 RBIs with 25 doubles and Will Smith has added 19 doubles, 15 home runs and 55 RBIs.
Boston Red Sox vs LA Dodgers Prediction
I’m going to take a stab on the Red Sox again here. I just think that’s where the value is and Bello, like this Red Sox team as a whole, has performed better away from Fenway Park this season. The Dodgers still have a potent lineup that can do damage at any point in a 9-inning game, and we saw that in full effect in Friday’s game. But this Red Sox team is still playing really well and at this price is still worth a shot against a pitcher in Wrobleski who has just two starts under his belt. Give me Boston.
Chris’s Pick Boston +118
