In their last series the Pirates took on the St. Louis Cardinals. Pittsburgh won the opener of that set 2-1 but then fell 4-2 and 4-3 in the remaining pair. The Pirates got back into the win column Friday with a 5-2 result, then on Saturday Pittsburgh broke down in a 16-4 blowout loss. Jared Jones managed 4.2 innings with six earned on six hits and four walks as starter.

Josh Fleming will make the start for Pittsburgh on Sunday. Fleming is 1-1 with a 5.68 ERA and 13 Ks so far this year.

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

Over on the Rockies’ side, they beat the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday 5-4. The other two games in that set were both loses though, 5-0 and 17-9. After another loss Friday, in game two the Rockies walloped 16 hits in a big offensive evening. Starter Ty Blach finished with 5.2 innings, two earned, seven hits and a walk.

It’ll be Dakota Hudson in the starting pitcher role for the Rockies on Sunday. This year Hudson is 2-8 with a 4.87 ERA and 36 Ks in 68.1 innings over 13 starts. Hudson is 40-28 with a 3.97 ERA in 127 career games (92 starts).

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Colorado Rockies Prediction

I might take a stab on the Rockies. Hudson had a rough time against the Reds on June 5 with four earned runs on five hits and four walks in 4.1 innings during a no-decision. In the other two of his last three outings though, Hudson is 1-1 with two combined earned runs in 13.2 innings on eight hits and three walks.

On Saturday the Rockies scored in six straight innings to finish off a great offensive performance. Hunter Goodman and Michael Toglia combined for nine RBI and three homers. Sunday probably won’t be as wild, but I think Colorado keeps it up.

Andrew’s Pick Colorado Rockies +122
