Penn State vs Washington Prediction
I’ll lean toward Washington. The Huskies are coming off a gritty win on the road against a pretty solid Nebraska team, giving up 387 total yards, 21 first downs and 6-of-13 on third downs defensively. The offense was nothing to write home about statistically with 267 total yards and 5-of-15 on third downs but they at least didn’t turn the ball over (which Nebraska did three times). Prior to that, Washington had given up 25 or more points in four straight games, a 1-3 stretch.
As for Penn State, they held Purdue to just nine first downs, 175 total yards and 2-of-11 on third downs along with only 16:33 in time of possession. The offense gained 457 yards on the other side, which included 269 yards on the ground. The victory halted a four-game skid for the Nittany Lions. They’d given up 21 or more points in all four of those. This is another winnable one but I don’t think they’ll quite get there.

Penn State Nittany Lions Betting Preview
The Nittany Lions opened up the year on a nice run but it’s been a struggle for them since. Penn State beat Marshall, Temple and Buffalo in their first three outings. A losing streak began from there however, as the Nittany Lions fell to Wisconsin, Northwestern, USC and Michigan in the next four. Across their first seven games of the season, Penn State could only muster a 3-4 overall record.
In the Purdue game on Halloween, the Nittany Lions were able to rattle off two touchdowns in the first quarter and one in the second for a 21-14 halftime edge. Penn State kept it rolling in the second half and eventually powered out the win 31-17. QB Rocco Becht was 16-of-24 for 175 yards and a touchdown. Cam Wallace led the rush with 22 carries for 135 yards and a TD, while leading receiver Benjamin Brahmer caught four balls for 58 yards in the victory.
Washington Huskies Betting Preview
Over on the Huskies’ side, they fell into a similar pattern this year. Washington was able to notch wins in each of their first three games, beating Washington State, Utah State and Eastern Washington. The Huskies would then fall to Minnesota, USC and Iowa before halting the losing streak with a win over Purdue. In seven games that would give Washington a 4-3 record in the books.
Matched up against Nebraska last Saturday the Huskies were pretty quiet in the first half, notching a field goal in the second quarter for a 7-3 deficit. Washington got it going in the fourth quarter though, rattling off a couple of TDs for a 17-10 victory in the end. QB Elijah Brown was 19-of-30 for 136 yards and Demond Williams went 7-of-13 with 99 yards and a score. Chris Lawson had 12 catches for 155 yards and the touchdown.
