Western Michigan Broncos Betting Preview
The Broncos were last at the .500 mark way back on December 6 as they sat at 5-5 through their first 10 games of the season. Western Michigan is just 3-8 since then, taking losses to Iowa, Buffalo, Toledo, Miami-OH, UMass, Akron, Bowling Green and Northern Illinois in that time. Through 21 games so far this year that gives Western Michigan an 8-13 overall record in the books.
Last Tuesday versus Northern Illinois, the Broncos faced a five-point deficit 35-30 by halftime. Western Michigan was outscored 50-35 the rest of the way and eventually lost 85-65 on the road in the end. Brady Swartz led the team on 16 points and six boards. Justice Williams had 10 points with two rebounds and Trey Lewis added 10 points and three boards in 16 minutes of work.
Ohio Bobcats Betting Preview
Over on the Ohio side, they limped to a 1-6 record over their first seven games this year. The Bobcats got it together on a very nice 9-1 run over the next 10 games, though. The only loss in that time came versus Bowling Green on December 20. A 2-4 stretch came next with losses to Toledo, Ball State, Akron and Kent State. Over 23 outings this year the Bobcats have carved out a 12-11 record.
Matched up against Buffalo last weekend, the Bobcats were sitting in the locker room at the break with a comfortable 31-46 lead. Ohio was outscored 52-49 the rest of the way during a wild second half but still held on for the double-digit road victory 95-83 in the end. Javan Simmons doubled up with 24 points and 13 boards, as did Jackson Paveletzke with 16 points and 11 assists.

Western Michigan vs Ohio Prediction
I’ll lean toward Ohio. The Bobcats posted a nice win on the road over a pretty good Buffalo team this past weekend. In that one Ohio shot 53 percent from the field with a 34-27 rebounding edge and 50 points in the paint. The Bobcats did give up 55.8 percent shooting on the other side, however. Still, Ohio got a much-needed victory out of it, scoring 95 points after a combined 122 in their previous two games (both losses).
As for WMU, they were blasted on the road by a struggling Northern Illinois squad in their last game. The Broncos shot just 34.6 percent from the field in that one with 12 turnovers and a 28-18 deficit in the paint. Western Michigan is just 1-4 in their last five games, giving up 72 or more points in all four losses.
