Wake Forest Demon Deacons Betting Preview
Wake Forest kicked off their campaign this year with a matchup versus American at home last Monday. The Deacons went into the locker room with a 12-point lead, then hit a 42-40 run the rest of the way in an 88-74 win. Topping the scorers were Mekhi Mason (10 rebounds) and Tre’Von Spillers (eight rebounds), each with 20 points and three assists to his credit. Juke Harris added 18 points with seven rebounds, and both Nate Calmese and Myles Colvin had 10 points apiece in the victory effort for the Demon Deacons.
In game two on Friday versus Morehead State, Wake Forest kept it going. After a 44-31 first-half run, the Deacons hit a 37-34 stretch in the second half on the way to an 81-65 win. Harris notched 29 points with nine rebounds this time, and Spillers doubled up on 16 points with 10 boards and two assists. Sebastian Akins chipped in with 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists in 26 minutes of work on the floor during the win as well.
Michigan Wolverines Betting Preview
Over on the Michigan side, they made a massive turnaround last season in the record column. The Wolverines went 27-10 overall with a 14-6 run in a very tough Big Ten—a far cry from the 8-24 depths of the 2023-24 campaign. Michigan landed behind only Michigan State and Maryland in the conference standings with that effort. After a three-game win streak to take the Big Ten Tournament crown, Michigan took out UC San Diego and Texas A&M in the NCAA Tournament. In the Sweet Sixteen however, the Wolverines lost a 78-65 affair to Auburn.
By the time they hit the court on Tuesday, Michigan will have been off the floor in over a week. The Wolverines’ first game was way back on November 3, a matchup versus Oakland. In that one Michigan hit a 69-38 first half and closed on a 52-40 run on the way to a 121-78 blowout win. Morez Johnson was the top man on 24 points with three rebounds and three assists. Trey McKenney added 21 points and four assists, while Aday Mara doubled up on 12 points and 12 rebounds with two assists in 20 minutes of action in the victory effort.

Wake Forest vs Michigan Prediction
I’ll probably still lean toward Michigan. I’m also probably also staying away, though. We’ve only seen Michigan once this year, and it’s been a while since they’ve been out on the floor. In last Monday’s game versus Oakland though, things went fine with a nice 64.3 percent shooting, 54.3 percent from 3-point range and a 38-19 rebounding edge alongside just eight turnovers. Michgian owned the paint as well with a 48-26 points advantage there. The foul shooting was excellent as well; the Wolverines hit 12 of their 13 shots at a rate of 92.3 percent. There wasn’t much to complain about at all.
As for Wake Forest, they didn’t have a ton of issues versus Morehead State despite hitting a tepid 40 percent from the field, 60 percent (18-of-30) from the line and 29.2 percent from outside. The Deacons did well on the boards (49) but likely won’t have that luxury here.
