South Florida Bulls Betting Preview

The South Florida Bulls enter Wednesday evening’s contest with a 14–8 overall win-loss record, including a 6–3 mark in conference play and an 8-2 record at home. The Bulls have compiled wins over Florida A&M, Coppin State, Kennesaw State, Western Kentucky, Charleston and the Utah State Aggies, while losing games to George Washington, VCU, Colorado State and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. In the South Florida Bulls 97-91 overtime victory over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers earlier this season, South Florida guard Joseph Pinion tallied 16 points (4 of 11 shooting from three-point range), 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block showcasing his ability to play at a high level.

The South Florida Bulls average 88.5 points (11th in country) on 43.8 percent shooting from the field and 34 percent shooting from three-point range per game. Shifting our attention to the defensive side of the basketball, the Bulls are allowing opponents 80.4 points per contest.

Senior forward Izaiyah Nelson has been a strong presence in the paint for the South Florida Bulls, averaging 15.5 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1.5 steals and 1.6 blocks per game. Senior guard Josh Omojafo is averaging 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1 steal per contest. Senior guard Joseph Pinion provides the Bulls additional quality play in the backcourt averaging 14.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.6 assists a game.

UTSA Roadrunners Betting Preview

The UTSA Roadrunners enter Wednesday’s game with a 4–17 win‑loss overall record, including an 0–9 mark in conference play and a 1-8 record on the road. The Roadrunners have compiled wins over Georgia Southern and the Southwestern Christan Eagles, while dropping recent games to UAB, Temple, North Texas, Rice and the Tulane Green Wave. In the UTSA Roadrunners recent 83–73 loss to UAB Blazers, UTSA held a late 69–68 lead before allowing a decisive 9–0 run, illustrating their ongoing struggles to close games.

The UTSA Roadrunners are averaging 64.9 points on 37.1 percent shooting from the field and 27.1 percent shooting from the field per game. Defensively, the Roadrunners are allowing opponents an abysmal 82.1 points per contest which ranks 329th in the nation.

Senior guard Jamir Simpson leads the UTSA Roadrunners averaging 15.7 points, 4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1 steal per game. Senior guard Austin Nunez averages 10.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per contest. Sophomore forward Baboucarr Njie provides the Roadrunners with quality frontcourt play averaging 8.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.

Why the South Florida Bulls Will Win

•             High powered offense. Through 22 games played this season, the South Florida Bulls are averaging 88.5 points per game which ranks 11th in the nation. Conversely, the Roadrunners average a rather low 64.9 points per contest.

•             Multiple scoring options. Josh Omojafo, Joseph Pinion and Izaiyah Nelson can carry the offense.

•            Home court edge. The South Florida Bulls are 8–2 at home this season.

Why the UTSA Roadrunners Will Win

•            Backcourt production. Senior guard Jamir Simpson leads the UTSA Roadrunners averaging 15.7 points, 4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1 steal per game.

•            Enhanced motivation. The UTSA Roadrunners enter tomorrow’s contest on the heels of a 14-game losing streak.

South Florida Bulls vs. UTSA Road Runners Prediction

This matchup features the UTSA Roadrunners strong frontcourt play against a South Florida team that has been significantly stronger at home and owns the more efficient offense of the two teams in this matchup. In my view, South Florida’s overall superior team balance, quality perimeter shooting and home court advantage present a difficult challenge for a Roadrunners team still searching for its first conference victory of 2025. For the reasons just noted, I am backing the South Florida Bulls to win this game rather easily.

Hans Geevers's Pick: South Florida -25.5
