We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best UNLV vs Grand Canyon pick. We will examine the recent form and player performances for both teams, as well as the recent betting trends and streaks pertaining to this matchup. As we conclude, we will tie it all together with a summary that produces a sensible pick for a favorable betting outcome in this game.
UNLV Rebels Betting Preview
UNLV managed to win 10 of their first 18 games out of the gate this year. The Rebels would then hit a losing streak versus San Diego State, New Mexico, Nevada and Fresno State, though. After that came a 4-1 run with wins over Grand Canyon, San Jose State, Boise State and Air Force. Over the first 27 games that gives the Rebels a 14-13 overall record this year.
In the Air Force matchup over the weekend, UNLV was sitting in the locker room with a three-point edge 34-31. The Rebels hit a 57-35 advantage the rest of the way, pulling out for a 91-66 victory on the road in the end. UNLV’s Kimani Hamilton put up 27 points with four rebounds and two steals. Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn added 21 points with three rebounds and two assists.
Grand Canyon Antelopes Betting Preview
Over on the Grand Canyon side, they posted a 10-6 run in the first 16 games. The Antelopes won versus Utah State, San Diego State, Fresno State, Boise State and Air Force in the next six, then lost to UNLV and New Mexico. After wins over San Jose State and San Diego State the Antelopes took another loss to Wyoming. That makes for a 17-10 record so far this season.
In the Wyoming game last weekend the Lopes had things all tied up 28-28 by the end of the first half. Grand Canyon was outscored 42-37 the rest of the way however, resulting in a 70-65 loss in the end on the road. Makaih Williams had 29 points with seven rebounds and two steals while Jaden Henley put up 15 points with five rebounds and five assists in the losing effort.

- UNLV has won four of its last five games.
UNLV vs Grand Canyon Prediction
I’ll lean toward Grand Canyon. The Antelopes didn’t shoot very well in their loss to Wyoming over the weekend, hitting just 40.7 percent from the field. Grand Canyon was competitive on the boards and in the paint but did cough up 14 turnovers in the defeat. The Lopes are just 2-3 in their last five games but they’re 2-1 in their last three.
Back on February 7 when these teams last met up the Lopes took a tough loss on the road 80-78. In that game GCU again had some shooting woes, going just 38.6 percent from the field. The 40-33 rebounding deficit and 30-24 disadvantage in the paint didn’t help matters either. The Antelopes have a good shot in the home rematch though, if they can get that shooting percentage elevated.
