Baylor is averaging 79.5 points while their defense is giving up 69.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 63rd in the league while the defense is ranked 107th. VJ Edgecome is dealing with a lower-body injury and is questionable for this game. If he can’t go, it’s a big loss for the squad. Langston Love is dealing with an ankle injury, and he’s also questionable for this game.

Can UCF Make Enough Defensive Stops?

UCF can really score, but their defense has been an issue, and the question is, can they make enough stops? UCF, in the last game, faced off against Cincinnati, and the offense scored 93 points, but the defense gave up 83 points, and that led to the defeat. At halftime, they were only down four, and in the second half, it got even worse. UCF shot 47.8 percent from the floor, but they allowed the Bearcats to shoot 58.5 percent from the floor. Two games ago against BYU, they scored 75 points, but the defense gave up 81 points. 

UCF sits with a 13-9 record overall and they have gone 11-11 against the spread. UCF is averaging 79.8 points while their defense is giving up 79.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 58th in the league while the defense is ranked 341st. They are averaging 62.95 field goals attempted per game which is 30th. Keyshawn Hall is averaging 18.3 points while shooting 43.6 percent from the field. 

UCF vs Baylor Prediction

Until we know the status of Edgecombe, I want to stay away from the side, although if he’s playing, it’s a lean-to Baylor. That being said, I do think this total is a little too low. Baylor and UCF can score, but I don’t think Baylor wants to get into a shootout here, and they are going to try and slow down the pace a little bit. They aren’t going to completely lockdown, but they are going to step up enough to keep this game under the total. This total is a  few points too high. Back the under.
