The Tritons came out of the gate this year with a 2-2 run featuring losses to SDSU and Seattle. It’s been wins over La Salle, James Madison, Toledo, La Verne, UC Santa Barbara, CSU Bakersfield, and Idaho since then.

I’ll take a stab at UC San Diego. The Tritons didn’t have too much trouble with a struggling Idaho team in their last game, hitting 46.6 percent from the field with 37 rebounds. UCSD has looked great during this seven-game win streak. They’ve hit 72 or more points in every one of those games and held opponents below 68 points in six of them.

As for Utah State, they shot a nice 50 percent from the field with 32 rebounds in their latest win over USF but weren’t so great from outside (6-of-23). That said, the Aggies are cooking this year and have scored 70 or more points in nine of 10 games. If both teams play well here, we’ll have a high total and an entertaining matchup. I think the Tritons can hang around.
