West Georgia Wolves Betting Preview
The Wolves’ season started with losses to Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee Tech, South Florida, Troy, Georgia Southern, Utah Valley, North Dakota State, Samford, and Mercer. Game 11 was finally a win for West Georgia, though.
Back on December 7 versus Tennessee Tech, the Wolves were up 49-32 going into the second half. West Georgia was outscored 41-29 the rest of the way but held on for the win 78-73. Lead scorer Shelton Williams-Dryden bagged 19 points with six assists.
Charlotte 49ers Betting Preview
Over on the Charlotte side, they only lost to Utah State in their first four games. The 49ers are just 2-3 since then though, beating Livingstone and Georgia State with losses to LIU, East Tennessee State, and Davidson otherwise.
In Saturday’s game versus Georgia State, the 49ers went into the second half with a seven-point edge. Charlotte hit a 45-38 run from there in a 77-63 win. Robert Braswell finished with 19 points and three steals to top the team.
Why the Charlotte 49ers will win
- Charlotte has won each of its last nine night games at Halton Arena against non-AP-ranked opponents.
West Georgia vs Charlotte Prediction
I’ll probably lean toward Charlotte here. The 49ers put together a pretty good game in their win over Georgia State—despite the 2-of-14 (14.3 percent) from 3-point range and 13 turnovers, that is. Charlotte has been scoring well over their last three, with 71 or more points in each.
As for West Georgia, they finally got a W in their last outing versus Tennessee Tech thanks to 50 percent shooting from the field and just eight turnovers. The Wolves have generally been hemorrhaging points on the other side all year though; they’ve given up 73 or more in 10 of 11 games. Charlotte should have plenty of scoring opportunities in this one.
