It’s been all downhill from there though, with losses to South Alabama, Alabama, Colorado, USC, Seattle U, Florida Atlantic, Temple, Charlotte, Tulane, Rice, Memphis, North Texas and Temple over a 13-game span. That gives the Roadrunners a rough 4-16 record in the books over their first 20 outings.

I’ll lean toward UAB but I’m probably staying away. The Blazers had an ugly offensive outing in their home loss to South Florida, shooting an abysmal 29.3 percent from the field and 16 percent (4-of-25) from outside. The good news is that UAB did well at the line (21-of-25 for 84 percent) and had just nine turnovers. The bad news is that the Blazers have given up a whopping 181 points over the last two games.

As for UTSA, they shot a reasonable 43.8 percent from the field in their loss to Temple, but went just 2-of-15 (13.3 percent) from outside. The Roadrunners also got to the line just eight times (making six) to the Owls’ 22 tries (making 17 for 77.3 percent). UTSA has been below 70 points in three straight games now, and in six of the last seven overall. I’m not thrilled about their chances here but I also don’t feel strongly about UAB these days either.
