Tulane Green Wave Betting Preview
The Wave were sitting at 12-9 overall back at the end of January and coming off a five-game losing streak. Tulane got it together on a 5-1 run with wins over Memphis, Temple, UAB, North Texas and Rice. The last four games have all been losses however, as the Wave have fallen to Tulsa, South Florida, Temple and Memphis in that time. That gives Tulane a 17-14 overall record this year.
In the matchup with Memphis on Sunday the Wave were up 40-31 at the break and looking pretty good. Tulane hit a 50-41 deficit the rest of the way however and had to go to overtime. After the extra period the Wave walked away with a tough loss on their home court 96-95. Leading the team in scoring was Rowan Brumbaugh with 31 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Memphis Tigers Betting Preview
Over on the Memphis side, they were last above the .500 mark back on February 8. The Tigers would then hit a long losing streak after that, falling versus North Texas, Utah State, South Florida, UAB, Wichita State, East Carolina and South Florida. After the win over Tulane last weekend the Tigers stopped the bleeding with a 13-18 overall record in the books this year.
In the Tulane matchup on Sunday, the Tigers were led by Quante Berry with 22 points, three rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes of work on the floor during the victory effort. Dug McDaniel was close behind on 20 points with seven boards and six assists while Thierno Sylla added 17 points with four rebounds and three blocks in 30 minutes on the court.

Tulane vs Memphis Prediction
I’ll take a stab on Memphis but it’s a coin flip. In the Sunday overtime win over the Wave, the Tigers shot a nice 51.6 percent from the field with a 33-24 rebounding edge and 42 points in the paint. Memphis added 13 turnovers for 12 Tulane points however, and gave up 49.3 percent shooting on defense.
The Tigers lost the first meeting between these teams this year, a 78-76 home defeat back on February 1. In that one Memphis shot just 35.7 percent from the field and 20 percent (4-of-20) from outside. The Tigers gave up 50 percent shooting to Tulane and had 11 turnovers along the way. This tournament rematch could play out in a lot of different ways, so I’m probably staying away.
