The Gaels had a fairly rough time from outside (25 percent on 3-of-12) and got outscored in the paint 36-30. Still, that makes five straight wins for Saint Mary’s, who has scored 72 or more points in all of those victories.

The Gaels were able to power out an 88-82 victory at home the last time these teams met up back on January 10. In that game, Saint Mary’s shot 48.2 percent from the field and a perfect 20-of-20 at the line, but also gave up 54.2 percent shooting on defense. The Gaels’ 40-16 deficit on points in the paint and 12 turnovers didn’t help either. Saint Mary’s really needs to tighten things up under the basket in this road rematch but I think they’ve got a good shot.
