Augustas Marciulionis has been the top player for the team, averaging 14.4 points while shooting 45 percent from the field. He has scored at least 16 points in each of the last five games.

Gonzaga Needs This Win

There has been all the chatter this season about this Gonzaga team not being as good as years past, but they could put some of that to bed with a victory in this game. Gonzaga has won five straight games, and the last few games have been pretty convincing. Two games ago against Pepperdine, they won 107-55, and in the last game against Washington State, they went on the road and won 84-63. In the first half against Washington State, they put up 50 points, and they need a fast start here. It was a slow start against Saint Mary’s in the first game, and that did them in. Guard Nolan Hickman had a strong game, putting up 23 points, five assists, and one rebound. 

At home this season, Gonzaga has a straight-up 13-1 record. The offense is averaging 87.8 points, while their defense is giving up 69.5 points. The offense is ranked 2nd in all of college basketball, and that has to be goal number one here, get the offense out to a fast start to put the pressure on. Not many have figured out a way to slow down Graham Ike, and he’s averaging 16.8 points while shooting 58.4 percent from the field. 

St Mary’s vs Gonzaga Prediction

Saint Mary’s already has a win over Gonzaga this season, and we know they have found success on the road this season. These two teams have good offenses, but Saint Mary’s isn’t too concerned about how good an offense is; they are going to shut it down. Gonzaga couldn’t get the offense going the first time these two teams played, and it will be their problem again in this game. The Gaels are giving up only 60.7 points per game, and if Gonzaga goes higher than that, it won’t be by much. Back Saint Mary’s against the spread. I am also throwing a few dollars on Saint Mary’s on the money line.
