St. Bonaventure Bonnies Betting Preview

The Bonnies started out the year on a great run, but they’ve struggled in the 2025 calendar year. St. Bonaventure went 14-1 over their first 15 outings. Those wins were over Cal State Northridge, Canisius, Florida Gulf Coast, Le Moyne, Mansfield, Bryant, Northern Iowa, Bucknell, Buffalo, Providence, Siena, Niagara, VCU, and Fordham. Since then the Bonnies are just 3-7, though. Those wins came versus Richmond, Dayton, and Fordham. Otherwise, it’s been losses to Saint Louis, La Salle, Duquesne, George Mason, VCU, Loyola Chicago, and George Washington. That gives the Bonnies a 17-8 overall run through their first 25 games.

In the matchup with George Washington on Sunday, the Bonnies were down by four points at the break. St. Bonaventure didn’t end up getting any closer on a 34-28 second-half run and took the loss at the end 62-52. Noel Brown led the team with his 15 points, eight boards, one assist, and one steal. Noah Bolanga came off the bench to provide 14 points with three rebounds and a steal in 23 minutes of work on the floor.

Rhode Island Rams Betting Preview

Over on the Rhode Island side, they similarly started out great but they’ve had issues in the win column since early December. The Rams beat Fairfield, Holy Cross, Franklin Pierce, Lafayette, Charleston, Detroit, Texas Arlington, Yale, and Providence in their first nine outings. A choppy 5-4 run came over the next nine games featuring wins versus Central Connecticut, Temple, George Mason, Richmond, and Davidson. Since then it’s been a 1-4 run for the Rams with a lone win over UMass. The losses in that time came versus VCU, La Salle, Fordham, and George Mason otherwise, giving the Rams a 15-8 record so far this season.

Matched up against the Patriots on Saturday, the Rams were down by six points heading into the second half. Rhode Island didn’t get any closer on a 36-27 deficit from there and took the loss 82-67 in the end. David Fuchs put up 17 points with eight boards and a pair of steals in the loss, leading the team off the bench. Sebastian Thomas added 10 points with five assists and a pair of rebounds as the high starter.

Saint Bonaventure vs Rhode Island Prediction

I’ll stay with Rhode Island. Probably not touching this one, though; both teams have been struggling lately. The Rams shot a nice 47.2 percent from the field and had 30 rebounds in their loss to George Mason over the weekend. Rhode Island also gave up 58.2 percent shooting on the other side, however, and had 10 turnovers for 17 Patriots points. The Rams have given up 80 or more points in three straight games (a 1-2 run) now.

As for the Bonnies, they shot a rough 37.5 percent from the field with a 39-24 rebounding deficit in their latest home loss to George Washington. St. Bonaventure has had some trouble finding points lately; they’ve got just 105 combined across their last two games. Provided Rhode Island can score well here, I think the Rams will be okay. It’s probably one I’m avoiding in all honesty, however.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Rhode Island Rams -1.5
