When these two teams faced off back in January, Seattle secured the 82-62 victory.

What a Win for Seattle

Seattle hasn’t had exactly a dominant season, but they sure dominated the last game. Seattle faced off against Southern Utah, and they gave up only 39 points on the way to the win. They were up 35-18 at halftime, and in the second half, they continued the same success. Two games ago against Grand Canyon, the offense scored only 60 points, and they lost by three points. At halftime of that game, they were down 37-23, and although they fought back in the second half, they still lost.

Seattle’s record is 12-17, and they are 11-15-1 against the spread. Away from home, they have a 3-11 record. They have scored an average of 71 points per game, ranking them 261st in college basketball offensively. They have given up an average of 66.5 points per game, landing them 40th in defense. In this game, they are going to need the defense to be strong to really put the pressure on.

Utah Tech Keeps Losing

Utah Tech is really struggling heading into this game, much like they have all season, and it was another loss in the last game. Two games ago, against Californa Baptist, they lost 61-57, and in the last game against Grand Canyon, they ended up down 90-68. Madiba Owana had a strong game, scoring 20 points, three assists, and two rebounds. Outside of him, though, the production wasn’t there, especially with the way the defense played.

Utah Tech’s record is 6-24, and they have gone 13-14 against the spread. At home, they have a record of 3-7. They rank 275th in offense, scoring an average of 70.4 points per game. Defensively, they have been giving up an average of 76.6 points per game, ranking them 307th. Getting out to a slow start has been a problem at this team, and they are going to need to be a whole lot better.

Seattle vs Utah Tech Prediction

We should have a good indiction of what is going to happen in this game just based on what happened in the first game. Utah Tech’s defense is giving up 76.6 points per game and the first time they faced off against Seattle the offense scored 82 points. Seattle has used that same balanced attack with thier offense all season, and they just have way too much shooting. Utah Tech won’t have enough offense to keep it close, and Seattle will end up cruising. Back Seattle to win this game and cover the spread.

Shane Mickle's Pick: Seattle -8.5
