San Diego State Aztecs Betting Preview
The Aztecs began the season on a .500 run at 3-3, taking losses to Troy, Michigan and Baylor along the way. San Diego State got better from there on a 5-1 run over the next six featuring a loss to only Arizona. The wins otherwise were over Utah Valley, Lamar, Air Force, Whittier and San Jose State. That would give the Aztecs an 8-4 record in their first dozen outings of the year.
In Saturday’s game versus Boise State, the Aztecs blew a 50-29 halftime lead and had to go to extra periods. After a grueling three overtimes, San Diego State finally emerged victorious 110-107 to finish off the game. BJ Davis was tops on 22 points with 11 rebounds and six assists while Elzie Harrington had 20 points and three rebounds. Reese Waters added 16 points in the win as well.
Nevada Wolf Pack Betting Preview
Over on the Nevada side, they kicked off the year with a 4-3 stretch featuring wins over LA Tech, Pacific, Southern Illinois and UC Santa Barbara. The Wolf Pack hit their stride from there with wins over San Francisco, UC San Diego, Washington State, Duquesne, Boise State and Colorado State in the next six. Over their first 13 games the Wolf Pack managed a 10-3 record overall.
Matched up against Fresno State over the weekend, Nevada was in trouble at the break with a 26-21 deficit. The Wolf Pack recovered in the second half on a 45-39 run and took the eventual win 66-65. Tyler Rolison put up 16 points with two assists and Elijah Price had 15 points and nine rebounds. Vaughn Weems added 13 points with six rebounds and two assists in the win.

San Diego State vs Nevada Prediction
I’ll lean toward Nevada. The Wolf Pack had a scare versus Fresno State over the weekend but eventually emerged victorious at Save Mart Center. Nevada shot 42.9 percent from the field with a tepid 28.6 percent (6-of-21) from outside and 12-of-18 (66.7 percent) from the line alongside a 32-28 rebounding deficit. It wasn’t exactly their best performance. Still, Nevada has now won seven straight games, scoring 75 or more points in six of those victories.
As for San Diego State, they had an exhausting triple-overtime win versus Boise State last weekend. The Aztecs shot a nice 53.4 percent from the field but also had 14 turnovers and got out-rebounded 41-35. That gives SDSU three straight wins (and six in the last seven), so they’re hot coming into this game. Should be a good matchup.
