The Auburn Tigers and the Oregon Ducks will meet on Monday evening in a regular season contest at the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Auburn Tigers vs. Oregon Ducks Preview

The Auburn Tigers enter Monday evening’s contest with a 4–1 win‑loss record. Auburn has posted wins over Bethune‑Cookman, Merrimack, Wofford, and Jackson State, while dropping a close 73–72 matchup to the Houston Cougars. In the Auburn Tigers dominant 112–66 victory over Jackson State four days ago, Auburn forward KeShawn Murphy tallied 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals in only 20 minutes of play.

The Tigers are averaging 93.4 points per game (18th in country) on 50.2 percent shooting from the field and 32 percent shooting from behind the arc. Defensively, Auburn has allowed opponents 69.6 points per game on 40.9 percent shooting from the field and 32.2 percent from three‑point range. Senior forward Keyshawn Hall has been the team’s most consistent performer, averaging 23.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1 steal and 0.8 blocks per game. Sophomore guard Tahaad Pettiford has contributed 10.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Forward KeShawn Murphy has certainly played well in the paint for the Tigers, averaging 14.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per contest.

Defensively, Auburn has been strong, holding opponents under 72 points in four of the team’s first five games played this season.

Oregon Ducks Betting Preview

The Oregon Ducks enter Monday evening’s contest with a 4–0 win‑loss record. Oregon has posted wins over Hawaii, Rice, South Dakota State, and Oregon State. In the Oregon Ducks 87–75 victory over the Oregon State Beavers five days ago, Oregon center Nate Bittle recorded 24 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist in only 31 minutes of play.

The Ducks are averaging 74.3 points per game on 40.4 percent shooting from the field and 31.5 percent shooting from behind the arc. Defensively, Oregon has allowed opponents 66.5 points per game on 38.3 percent shooting from the field and 30.8 percent from three‑point range. Senior center Nate Bittle is averaging 18.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3 blocks and 1.5 assists per game. Junior guard Jackson Shelstad has contributed 18.3 points and 5 assists per game. Guard Takai Simpkins has provided perimeter scoring, averaging 14 points per game while shooting 33.3 percent from three-point range.

Defensively, Oregon has been solid, holding opponents under 70 points in three of the team’s four games played this season. The Ducks rely heavily on Bittle’s interior presence and Shelstad’s playmaking, but their rotation depth will be tested against Auburn’s athleticism.

Why the Auburn Tigers will win

•            Senior forward Keyshawn Hall has played exceptionally well this season. Hall is averaging 23.3 points, 11 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

•            Balanced attack. Auburn has seven players averaging over 10 points a game.

•            High‑powered offense: The Tigers are scoring nearly 93.4 points per game which ranks 18th in the country.

Why the Oregon Ducks will win

•            Senior center Nate Bittle’s interior presence. Bittle is averaging 18.8 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3 blocks per game.

•            Jackson Shelstad is averaging 16.5 points and 6.0 assists per game.

•            Defensive discipline. The Ducks have held opponents under 69 points in three of four games played this season.

Auburn Tigers vs. Oregon Ducks Prediction

This matchup features two teams with contrasting strengths. Auburn’s explosive offense versus Oregon’s balanced defense. Auburn will look to push tempo and dominate the paint with Hall and Murphy, while Oregon will rely on Bittle and Shelstad to control half‑court possessions.

In my view, Auburn’s superior scoring depth and athleticism will be too much for the Ducks to handle tomorrow night. Oregon has been impressive, but Auburn’s offensive firepower and rebounding edge should prove decisive in Las Vegas. I am backing the Auburn Tigers to cover the 4.5 points in this contest.

Hans Geevers's Pick: Auburn -4.5
