Miami Hurricanes Betting Preview

Over on the Miami side, they were looking good by mid-January on a nice 15-2 overall run. The only losses had come versus Florida and BYU. The Hurricanes hit a 3-3 stretch in the next six though, losing to Clemson, Florida State and California with wins over Syracuse, Stanford and Boston College otherwise. Over the first 23 games of the year that gives the Canes an 18-5 record.

In the Boston College matchup on Saturday the Hurricanes were sitting in the locker room with a tiny edge 34-33. Miami kept it going in the second half on a 40-35 run though, eventually powering out the victory 74-68 on the road. Malik Reneau was tops on 23 points with eight rebounds and Shelton Henderson added 19 points with six rebounds and two assists in the win.

I’ll lean toward North Carolina. This should be a pretty fun matchup, though. UNC is coming off a great home win over a very talented Duke team this past weekend. The Tar Heels shot 47.3 percent from the field in that one with 78.6 percent (11-of-14) from the line and just seven turnovers, but did get beaten on the boards (34-25) and in the paint (36-22). North Carolina has won five straight games now, with 85 or more points in four of those.

As for Miami, they shot a very nice 51.9 percent from the field with a 41-30 rebounding edge in their road win over Boston College. The Hurricanes were just 52 percent (13-of-25) from the line though, and had 13 turnovers. Miami is 3-1 in their last four games, giving up 70 or more points in three along the way (68 in the other).
