NC Central Eagles Betting Preview
The Eagles have been playing at a pretty steady clip so far; they’ve got seven games in the books this year. NC Central started out with three straight losses though, falling versus NC State, Virginia and App State in a series of tricky matchups. NC Central’s first win came over Bluefield State, then came another loss 97-53 versus North Carolina. Game six was a victory however, as the Eagles took out Toccoa Falls 123-67 for a 2-4 start.
NC Central unfortunately fell back into the loss column on Saturday versus Dayton. The Eagles opened on a 44-20 first half, then got better from there but it wasn’t enough in a 74-55 loss. Khouri Carvey had 15 points with four rebounds, and Gage Lattimore had 13 points with seven rebounds. Kyric Davis was also in double-digits with 10 points and four boards in the loss.
USC Upstate Spartans Betting Preview
Over on the USC Upstate side, they’ve also got seven games in the can so far. The Spartans kicked off the season with a loss to California Baptist, then beat Fresno State 67-66 in game two. USC Upstate would win the next pair over Southern Virginia and Bob Jones before a pair of losses to UNC Wilmington and Tennessee Tech in the next two outings.
Matched up against West Georgia on Friday in game seven, the Spartans went into the locker room trailing 32-28. USC Upstate finished on a 40-36 deficit for a 72-64 loss. Mason Bendinger put up 21 points with three boards, and Carmelo Adkins added 19 points with five rebounds as the only other player in double-digit points during the defeat.

NC Central vs USC Upstate Prediction
I’ll probably stick with USC Upstate. There’s not a lot here to get all that excited about, but it should be a decent matchup. The Spartans couldn’t keep pace with West Georgia in their last outing, mostly thanks to a bad shooting outing. USC Upstate hit just 34.8 percent from the field and 10-of-16 (62.5 percent) from the line alongside a 46-34 rebounding deficit. The Spartans have been below 65 points in two of the last three games but they can score pretty well in the right matchups this year.
As for NC Central, they had a bad shooting outing themselves versus Dayton. The Eagles hit just 37.3 percent from the field and had a 37-31 rebounding deficit with a 32-22 disadvantage on points in the paint. NC Central’s biggest issue was turnovers (17) and they didn’t get much in the way of assists either (nine). The Eagles have been below 56 points in two of the last three (with one being a blowout versus UNC) so I’m not super jazzed about their scoring chances here either.
