Nevada Wolf Pack Betting Preview

The Wolf Pack managed to go 16-6 over their first 22 games this season then lost three of the next four versus Boise State, San Diego State and San Jose State. After a 3-2 run to finish off the regular season featuring wins over Utah State, New Mexico and Air Force, Nevada beat Air Force and Grand Canyon before a conference tourney loss to Utah State. Since then it’s been wins over Murray State and Liberty.

In the NIT Second Round matchup versus Liberty on Saturday the Wolf Pack were sitting in the locker room with a 35-31 advantage at the break. In the second half Nevada hit a 38-32 run and eventually powered out the win 73-63. Elijah Price was the team’s leading scorer in the victory effort with 15 points, 10 rebounds and one assist for a double-double over 25 minutes.

Auburn Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Auburn side, they started out their year on a 14-7 clip then lost to Tennessee, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Alabama across the next 10 games as they finished off the regular season. A win over Mississippi State and a loss to Tennessee came in the conference tourney, then NIT wins over South Alabama and Seattle U.

Matched up against the Redhawks in their Second Round game, the Tigers were ahead comfortably by a margin of 42-31 as they came back out onto the floor for the second half. Auburn was outscored 54-49 the rest of the way but still held on for the 91-85 victory in the end. Topping the scorers was Kevin Overton with 23 points and two rebounds in 37 minutes of action.

Nevada vs Auburn Prediction

I’ll lean toward Nevada but it’s a coin flip. The Wolf Pack got past Liberty without too much fuss over the weekend, hitting 46.3 percent from the field with an excellent 95 percent (19-of-20) from the free throw line. Nevada added a 38-21 rebounding edge and just 40.4 percent shooting allowed on defense. The Wolf Pack have gone 5-1 in the last six games, scoring 73 or more points in every one of those wins.

As for Auburn, they shot a very nice 50 percent from the field in their win over Seattle U, but did give up 51.7 percent shooting on the other side. The Tigers had a 34-22 edge on points in the paint however, as well as a 38-24 advantage on points in the paint. Auburn has scored a combined 169 points over their two NIT games thus far, so we should have a pretty good total if both teams can keep their offenses up.
