Mount St. Mary’s vs Niagara Prediction
I’ll lean toward Mount St. Mary’s but I’m probably not touching this one. There’s not a lot to like here if you’re not a fan of either team. The Mountaineers had a slow first half versus a middling Canisius team on the road this weekend but ended up finishing on 55.8 percent shooting, a 35-20 rebounding edge and a 36-16 advantage on points in the paint. Mount St. Mary’s did have 14 turnovers along the way, though. Mount St. Mary’s is just 2-3 in the last five with fewer than 70 points scored in all three losses, but they’ve won two of the last three games.
As for Niagara, they got a much-needed win over a middling Canisius team in a road matchup last week. The Eagles shot 41.7 percent from the field with a pretty nice 77.8 percent (14-of-18) effort from the line in the victory, but weren’t super remarkable otherwise. Niagara is 1-3 in their last four games, scoring fewer than 60 points in two of those.
