Miami-Ohio RedHawks Betting Preview
The RedHawks got off to a pretty choppy start, but they’ve been much better lately. Miami-OH went 6-4 over their first 10 games, taking losses to Wright State, Michigan, Indiana, and Vermont during that time. A win streak over Sacred Heart, Defiance, Buffalo, Ball State, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Kent State, and Bowling Green came next, then a loss to Akron. Miami-OH would beat Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Central Michigan, Troy, and Toledo in the next five games before another loss to Western Michigan. That gives the RedHawks a 19-6 overall run through 25 games so far.Â
In the Western Michigan matchup over the weekend, the RedHawks opened up the game with a 32-30 advantage. Miami-Ohio fell behind on a 48-38 stretch in the second half however, eventually losing it 78-70 in the end. Brant Byers led the team with 19 points with two rebounds and two assists off the bench. Mekhi Cooper was the top starter with 12 points, four rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes.Â
Eastern Michigan Eagles Betting Preview
Over on the Eastern Michigan side, they’ve been fighting off the .500 mark in the record books for most of the season so far. The Eagles kicked things off with a 7-9 run over their first 16 outings. The losses in that time were versus Texas State, Cleveland State, Detroit, Loyola, Fort Wayne, Davidson, Toledo, Akron, and Central Michigan. After three straight wins over Bowling Green, Ohio, and Buffalo, the Eagles took losses to Miami-OH, Western Michigan, and Kent State in the next trio. Since then it’s been a loss to Ball State in between wins over Old Dominion and Toledo. So far that gives the Eagles a 12-13 record through 25 games overall.Â
Matched up against Toledo in their Saturday game, the Eagles came out of the locker room with a 43-33 advantage. Eastern Michigan closed on a 40-37 deficit, hanging on for the eventual victory 80-73. Jalen Terry went off for 38 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and a nice 15-of-17 from the field. Da’Sean Nelson added 21 points with six rebounds as well.Â

Miami-Ohio vs Eastern Michigan PredictionÂ
I’ll try Eastern Michigan here. The Eagles are coming off a nice win over a decent Toledo team, shooting 55.4 percent from the field with 9-of-13 (64.3 percent) from outside and 9-of-10 from the line. That gives Eastern Michigan a 2-1 run in the last three outings, with the lone loss in that time being a competitive overtime finish on the road versus Ball State. EMU has also put up 76 or more points in all three of those games, so they should score well here also.Â
The last time these teams met up back on January 28, Eastern Michigan took an 89-80 road loss. The Eagles posted 11 turnovers for 13 RedHawks points in that one and also allowed 49.1 percent from the field with a 37-32 rebounding deficit. There’s plenty to clean up in the rematch, but in a comfortable home game, I like EMU to power it out. Should be a pretty fun matchup if both teams play well, though.Â
