Manhattan Jaspers Betting Preview
The Jaspers have had a pretty uneven season so far, but they’ve (barely) been able to keep their heads above the .500 mark overall. Manhattan opened things up on a 7-8 run with wins over Mercy, Fordham, Army, Saint Peter’s, Wagner, Presbyterian, and Rider. A 1-3 run came next with losses to Mount St. Mary’s, Merrimack, and Fairfield. Since then Manhattan has been 5-3 with wins over Mount St. Mary’s, Iona, Saint Peter’s, Merrimack, and Fairfield among losses to Sacred Heart, Iona, and Quinnipiac. In total across the first 25 games of the 2024-25 campaign, that gives the Jaspers a 13-12 overall record.Â
In their Sunday game versus Quinnipiac, the Jaspers came out of halftime with a 38-23 edge. Manhattan was outscored 51-33 in the second half, however, resulting in a disappointing 74-71 defeat in the end. Leading the team was Wesley Robinson with 18 points and five rebounds. Devin Dinkins added 17 points with six assists and three boards in 38 minutes, and Masiah Gilyard had 16 points with seven boards in 34 minutes of work.Â
Canisius Golden Griffins Betting Preview
Over on the Canisius side, they’ve had a pretty miserable season thus far with only a few scattered wins here and there. The Griffins hit a rough 0-14 run to start things out before finally bagging a win over Rider on January 10. After losses to Saint Peter’s and Iona, Canisius beat Fairfield. Since then it’s been losses to Sacred Heart, Marist, Niagara, Quinnipiac, Merrimack, Niagara again, Mount St. Mary’s, and Marist again before another win over Siena. Canisius has managed a 3-24 record across their first 27 games of the season.Â
Matched up against Siena on the road on Sunday, the Griffins were up by 10 points at the break. Canisius hit a 61-56 deficit from there but held on for the victory in the end 93-88. tops in scoring was Paul McMillan with 21 points, eight boards, and a steal. Tana Kopa added 18 points with three rebounds and two steals, while both Dylan Godfrey (four rebounds) and Cam Palesse (seven rebounds) chipped in 16 points each.Â
Why the Canisius Golden Griffins will win

Why the Manhattan Jaspers will win
- Canisius has lost each of its last six night games.
- Manhattan has won three of its last four games following a home loss.
- Manhattan has won the first half in three of its last four night games at Koessler Athletic Center against non-AP-ranked opponents.
Manhattan vs Canisius PredictionÂ
I’ll stay with Manhattan, but I’m probably not touching this one. There’s not a lot to get excited about here if you’re not a fan of either team. The Jaspers fell apart in the second half during their latest loss to Quinnipiac, getting out-rebounded 39-32 and coughing up 15 turnovers for 11 Bobcats points. Manhattan shot fairly well otherwise but couldn’t overcome the mistakes.Â
As for Canisius, they’re coming off a much-needed win over Siena. The good news for the Griffins is that they’ve scored well over the past two games, with a combined 174 points in that pair. If that trend manages to hold we’ll have a pretty high total here. Canisius played a sloppy overall game in their last outing though with 19 turnovers (of a whopping 37 total turnovers) for 21 Saints points. Friday’s game could be a mess as well, and if Manhattan doesn’t play their best they could even be in danger of losing. That said I think the Jaspers will pull it together against an inferior opponent and power it out.Â
