Lindenwood Lions Betting Preview
The Lions have had a pretty choppy year so far but they’ve been doing a bit better lately. Lindenwood opened the season on a 6-9 run, taking losses to Oklahoma, New Orleans, Robert Morris, Valparaiso, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee Tech, Eastern Illinois, and SIU Edwardsville during that time. The Lions would go 8-5 over the next 13 outings though, losing to Southern Indiana, Morehead State, Little Rock, Eastern Illinois, and Tennessee State. The wins otherwise were over Tennessee State, TN-Martin, SEMO, SIU Edwardsville, TN-Martin again, Morehead State, Southern Indiana, and Little Rock. Across the first 28 games of the season, that would give Lindenwood an even 14-14 overall record.Â
In their game versus Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, the Lions were down by four points at the break. Lindenwood came back with a 46-34 deficit and fell further behind during an eventual loss of 74-58. Leading the team in the losing effort was Markeith Browning with 17 points, five rebounds, and two steals. Jadis Jones added 11 points with seven rebounds and one steal in 37 minutes, and Reggie Bass chipped in 10 points with three rebounds.Â
Western Illinois Leathernecks Betting Preview
Over on the Leathernecks’ side, they posted a middling initial record but have really struggled since early January. Western Illinois went 8-7 in their first 15 games, losing to Pepperdine, Green Bay, Northern Iowa, Incarnate Word, South Dakota, Lindenwood, and SIU Edwardsville in that time. Losses to TN-Martin, Tennessee State, Morehead State, Southern Indiana, Little Rock, SEMO, Eastern Illinois, SIU Edwardsville, Tennessee State, and TN-Martin came next, then wins over Southern Indiana and Morehead State before another loss to SEMO. That would give the Leathernecks a 10-18 record over their first 28 outings this year.Â
Matched up against Little Rock in their weekend game, the Leathernecks held a modest 39-36 lead at the break. Western Illinois couldn’t keep up the pace from there though, falling behind on a 39-22 run on the way to a 75-61 defeat. The Leathernecks’ leading scorer was Ryan Myers with 17 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Western Illinois got 11 points from Trey Deveaux, the team’s only other double-digit scorer.Â

Lindenwood vs Western Illinois PredictionÂ
I’ll just stay with Lindenwood here. Probably not touching this one, though. The Lions need a good comeback effort after falling to a decent SEMO team over the weekend. Lindenwood shot just 33.3 percent from the field in that one with 3-of-16 (18.8 percent) from 3-point range. The Lions also gave up 10 turnovers for 16 Redhawks points and missed eight of their 21 free throws (61.9 percent). The loss snaps a three-game win streak for Lindenwood, who had scored 73 or more points in each of those victories.Â
Way back on December 21 when these teams last met, Lindenwood posted a 71-65 win at home. The Lions shot quite well in that one (48.2 percent from the floor) and had a 37-28 rebounding edge. It was a sloppy game overall though, with Lindenwood accounting for 14 of the game’s total 27 turnovers for 13 Leathernecks points. The Lions are going to need to minimize the miscues in this road rematch.Â
