La Salle Explorers Betting Preview
The Explorers have been a mixed bag this year, and so far they’ve been unable to keep their heads above the .500 mark in the record column. La Salle put up a nice 6-2 opening run with losses to only UC San Diego and UIC in that time. A 2-5 stretch came next with wins over Fairleigh Dickinson and Immaculata among losses to Northeastern, Saint Joseph’s, North Carolina, Dayton, and Loyola. La Salle would go 4-3 over the next seven with wins versus St. Bonaventure, Davidson, Rhode Island, and George Washington. Since then, however, the Explorers have lost three straight games versus VCU, Umass, and Saint Joseph’s in succession. That gives La Salle a 12-13 overall run through 25 games so far.Â
In the Saint Joseph’s matchup back on Wednesday, the Explorers came out of the gate with a 31-24 advantage in the first half. La Salle was blitzed in the second half with a 51-32 deficit however, resulting in a 75-63 loss in the end. Deuce Jones was the top team scorer in the losing effort with 22 points with nine rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Corey McKeithan chipped in 11 points, and Mac Etienne added 10 points with eight boards and two blocks.Â
Rhode Island Rams Betting Preview
Over on the Rhode Island side, they got off to a hot start but they’ve been quite choppy since late December. The Rams won their first nine games of the year, then hit a 2-2 run with losses to Brown and Duquesne bookending wins over Central Connecticut and Temple. A 4-4 run came next with wins over George Mason, Richmond, Davidson, and UMass among losses to George Washington, Loyola, VCU, and La Salle. Since then it’s been losses to Fordham and George Mason before a win over St. Bonaventure. In all that gives the Rams a 16-8 overall run through their first 24 games of the 2025-25 season.Â
Matched up against St. Bonaventure in their Wednesday outing, the Rams held a 37-25 deficit at the break and looked to be in trouble. Rhode Island woke up after halftime though, posting a 43-27 advantage on the way to a comeback victory 68-64 in the end. Jamarques Lawrence put up 20 points with four steals to lead the team. David Green had 18 points with seven rebounds and three assists, while Sebastian Thomas added 15 points with seven assists and four boards in 40 minutes of workout on the court.Â

La Salle vs Rhode Island PredictionÂ
I’ll stay with Rhode Island. The Rams are coming off a nice comeback win over a good St. Bonaventure team in their last outing. In that one, Rhode Island shook off a bad first half and eventually shot 46.2 percent from the field with 32 rebounds. The 13 turnovers for 13 Bonnies points didn’t help, though. Still, it was a solid effort on defense (64 points allowed) after giving up 162 combined in the previous pair (both losses).Â
Rhode Island took a 70-64 road loss the last time these teams met up, thanks mostly to just 34.5 percent shooting and 15 turnovers. The Rams are a better team than that, however, and I think they’ll post a bounce-back effort in the rematch.Â
