Kent State came back on a 46-36 run the rest of the way however, eventually leading to a 75-72 victory on the road. Kent State vs Southern Miss Prediction
I’ll lean toward Kent State. The Flashes didn’t play their greatest ball in their comeback win over Toledo this week, but it worked out with a road win. Kent State shot just 37.9 percent from the field with 12 turnovers and a 38-22 deficit on points in the paint. That said, the Flashes also had a 43-31 rebounding edge and shot reasonably well (34.5 percent on 10-of-29) from outside. Kent State has won three of the last four games, scoring 72 or more points in all three victories.
As for Southern Miss, they couldn’t quite keep pace with a pretty good Marshall team in their latest road loss this week. The Eagles shot a tepid 41.1 percent from the field in that one with 13 turnovers and 53.7 percent shooting allowed on defense. Southern Miss is just 1-6 in their last seven games, giving up 69 or more points in all of the losses during that time.
