Kennesaw State Owls Betting Preview
The Owls were sitting at 12-6 overall through their first 18 games and coming off a four-game win streak. A 2-5 stretch came next however with wins over only Western Kentucky and New Mexico State. Since then it’s been a 6-2 run for Kennesaw State featuring wins over Missouri State, LA Tech, Liberty, Delaware, Western Kentucky and Sam Houston for a 20-13 overall record in the books.
On Friday in the tournament matchup versus Sam Houston, the Bulldogs came back out onto the floor after the break with a 37-31 deficit. Kennesaw State fought back on a 48-36 run the rest of the way in a 79-73 victory. Tops in scoring was Amir Taylor with 23 points and six rebounds. RJ Johnson added 20 points with five rebounds, six assists and two steals.
LA Tech Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Louisiana Tech side, they were sitting at 12-8 over the first 20 games of the year. The Bulldogs hit a 2-3 run after that with losses to Sam Houston, New Mexico State and Florida International, then went 2-2 over the next four games with losses to Kennesaw State and Florida International. It’s been wins over Liberty, Delaware, Middle Tennessee and Missouri State since then.
In the Missouri State tournament matchup on Friday, the Bulldogs were sitting in the locker room with a 30-27 advantage. LA Tech hit a 39-39 run in the second half and ended up powering out the victory 69-66 as the game came to a close. AJ Bates was tops on 27 points with six assists and two boards while DJ Dudley added 10 points with three rebounds.
Kennesaw State vs LA Tech Prediction
I’ll stick with LA Tech but you could obviously call it either way. The Bulldogs shot a healthy 48.1 percent from the field with a 31-21 rebounding edge and just five turnovers in their win over Missouri State, but weren’t spectacular from outside on 26.7 percent (4-of-15) and cut it close in a three-point victory. Still, LA Tech has now won four straight games with 76 or more points in three of those outings.
These teams split the season series with the home team getting a win each time. LA Tech took the January 23 game 82-76 and Kennesaw State returned the favor on February 21 by a margin of 58-55. In that road loss the Bulldogs didn’t shoot well at all on 31.6 percent—but then again neither did Kennesaw State (35.1 percent). LA Tech had a dominant 40-24 edge on the boards and put up a competitive effort in the paint but also coughed up 17 turnovers along the way. I’d expect a cleaner game here, and it should be a competitive matchup.
