The Jayhawks managed to go 6-3 over their first nine games of the season, taking losses to North Carolina, Duke and UConn along the way. Over the last nine outings it’s been a 7-2 stretch with losses to UCF and West Virginia alongside wins over Missouri, NC State, Towson, Davidson, TCU, Iowa State and Baylor. In the first 18 games of the year that gives the Jayhawks a 13-5 overall record.
In the Baylor game back on Friday the Jayhawks entered the second half sporting a 43-37 edge. Kansas kept it up from there on a 37-25 advantage and cruised to the nice home win 80-62 in the end. Over on the Colorado side, they were able to get wins in each of their first eight games and 10 of the first 11 this year. The only blemish came courtesy of Colorado State on December 6. The Buffaloes are just 2-5 since then however, taking losses to Stanford, Northern Colorado, Texas Tech, Cincinnati and West Virginia. Over 18 games so far this year the Buffaloes have a 12-6 record in the books.
Matched up against West Virginia on Saturday the Buffaloes were in the locker room sporting a 36-29 deficit. Kansas vs Colorado Prediction
I’ll probably just stay with Kansas here. The Jayhawks didn’t have too many issues with a decent Baylor team in their last outing, notching a nice 50.8 percent shooting from the field and 84.6 percent (11-of-13) from the line while holding the Bears to just 36.1 percent shooting on defense. Kansas had a dominant 42-18 edge in the paint and just four turnovers as well. The Jayhawks are a tepid 3-2 in their last five games however, with both defeats coming on the road versus UCF and West Virginia.
As for Colorado, they gave up 52 percent shooting in the loss to West Virginia while putting up just 39.3 percent from the field themselves. The Buffaloes were outmuscled on the boards 36-18 and in the paint 30-28. Colorado is on a 2-5 skid over their last seven games and they’ve lost three straight, giving up 72 or more points in all three of those defeats.
