Over on the Hoosiers’ side, they haven’t run into any trouble thus far record-wise. Indiana opened up the season with a win over Alabama A&M, then took out Marquette by 23 points on November 9. The Hoosiers would then get past Milwaukee, Incarnate Word and Lindenwood in their next trio of outings. That gives Indiana a perfect 5-0 record thus far.

The Hoosiers last played Lindenwood on Thursday. Indiana was up 34-18 by the end of the first half, then rolled on a 39-35 run the rest of the way during a 73-53 win in the end. Tucker DeVries was tops on 25 points with three boards and three assists, while Lamar Wilkerson put up 10 points with four rebounds and two assists. Sam Alexis added 10 rebounds with eight points and one assists in 24 minutes during the winning effort for the Hoosiers.

I’m likely staying with Kansas State. Sure, the Wildcats are coming off a loss to a tricky Nebraska team but they didn’t play too badly after the first half—outside of the 13 turnovers and 48-24 deficit in the paint, that is. Kansas State shot decently (43.5 percent) and hit 19-of-22 (86.4 percent) from the line alongside 27 rebounds and 19 team assists. The Wildcats have scored great so far this year with 84 or more points in all six games.

As for Indiana, they didn’t shoot great (37.7 percent) versus Lindenwood and got out-rebounded 40-36 in the 20-point win. The Hoosiers held the opposition to just 25.4 percent from the field though, which helped matters immensely. Indiana had a fairly close finish against Incarnate Word 69-61 back on November 16, so I think Kansas State can keep the pace here.
