Georgetown Hoyas Betting Preview
Georgetown put up a fairly rough 9-10 run across the opening 19 games this season. The Hoyas would win four straight games versus Providence, DePaul, Butler and Creighton. After that came losses to Villanova, UConn, Butler, Seton Hall, Marquette and Xavier. In the first 29 games of the year that gives the Hoyas a 13-16 overall record in the books for their troubles.
On Saturday versus Xavier, the Hoyas weren’t looking too bad at halftime on a 39-38 advantage. Georgetown got outscored 53-45 the rest of the way, eventually leading to a 91-84 loss on the road in the end. Tops in scoring was Kayvaun Mulready with 19 points, three rebounds and two assists. Malik Mack added 17 points with three rebounds as well.
Saint John’s Red Storm Betting Preview
Over on the St. John’s side, they were able to win seven of their first 10 games then hit a 2-2 run with losses to Kentucky and Providence. Next was a win streak over Butler, Creighton, Marquette, Villanova, Seton Hall, Xavier, Butler, DePaul, UConn, Xavier, Providence, Marquette and Creighton. After a loss to UConn and a win over Villanova the Storm have a 23-6 overall record.
Matched up against Villanova over the weekend the Storm were sitting pretty in the locker room at halftime sporting a nice 48-23 advantage. Saint John’s didn’t let up in the second half on a 41-34 run and eventually took the nice win on their home court in the end 89-57. Ian Jackson led the way on 19 points with five boards and Zuby Ejiofor added 16 points with 12 rebounds and 10 assists for a triple-double.

Georgetown vs St. John’s Prediction
I’ll stay with the Storm. St. John’s demolished a very good Villanova team in their last outing, taking 52.5 percent from the field while giving up just 37 percent on defense. The Storm had a 38-24 rebounding advantage as well, alongside 29 points off 16 Wildcats turnovers (and just eight turnovers of their own). St. John’s is an excellent 14-1 in their last 15 games, with only an ugly road loss 72-40 to UConn as the blemish.
These teams last saw each other back on New Year’s Eve in a 95-83 road win for the Red Storm. In that one St. John’s shot 50 percent from the field and 55.6 percent (15-of-27) from outside along with a 33-28 advantage in rebounding. The Storm did give up 45.9 percent from the field though, so I’d like to see that number come down a bit in the home rematch.
