George Washington Revolutionaries Betting Preview

Back on January 3 the Revs were looking pretty good on an 11-4 record through 15 games. George Washington hit a rough 2-7 skid over the next nine though, beating only Loyola and Richmond. Since then it’s been a spotty 4-3 run with wins over Rhode Island, George Mason, La Salle and Saint Bonaventure. That gives George Washington a 17-14 record overall this year.

In the Loyola matchup last weekend George Washington came off the court in the first half with a four-point deficit 31-27. The Revolutionaries didn’t end up getting any closer than that on a 37-35 disadvantage in the second half and lost the game 68-62. Leading the team in scoring during the losing effort was Garrett Johnson with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Fordham Rams Betting Preview

Over on the Fordham side, they managed to go 9-4 over their first 13 games. The Rams would then hit a 1-6 stretch before beating La Salle and George Washington. After losses to VCU and St. Bonaventure, Fordham is 5-2 with wins over Saint Joseph’s, Rhode Island, Loyola, Davidson and Rhode Island again over their last seven games. That makes for a 17-14 record this year.

In the Rhode Island game back on Saturday the Rams were trailing by three points in the locker room 28-25 at halftime. Fordham woke up on a 36-21 run the rest of the way and powered out the win in the end 61-49. Leading the team in scoring was Dejour Reaves with 17 points, four rebounds and two assists. Rikus Schulte added 14 points with 13 rebounds and two assists.

George Washington vs Fordham Prediction

I’ll stick with Fordham. The Rams are coming off a win over Rhode Island last weekend, though they didn’t shoot great. Fordham hit 41.3 percent from the field with 14 turnovers but held the Rams to just 34 percent on defense while maintaining a 37-24 rebounding advantage. The Rams are 5-2 in their last seven games, though they’re just 1-2 in the last three.

These teams last met back on January 31 in a 79-65 road win for the Rams. Fordham posted 48.4 percent shooting in that one while holding George Washington to just 39.3 percent. The Rams managed a 48-26 edge in the paint and a 40-24 advantage on the boards. If the Rams can play like that on Thursday they won’t have too many issues.
