Florida Gulf Coast Eagles Betting Preview

Florida Gulf Coast opened up their year versus New College of Florida on November 3. The Eagles went into halftime with a 44-29 lead. Following 52 more points in the second, the Eagles had a 96-60 victory. Leading the way was Rahmir Barno with 14 points, four assists and three rebounds. Rory Stewart added 11 points with six rebounds, while Isaiah Malone had seven boards. In game two FGCU took on a tough Illinois team. That one didn’t go well, as the Eagles limped to a 113-70 blowout loss. Tops this time was JR Konieczny with 26 points and five boards. The only other player to reach double-digits was Jordan Ellerbee with 12 points and five rebounds. Game three was another loss for Florida Gulf Coast, but this one was much closer. The Eagles were tied with Georgia Southern 42-42 at the break but ultimately lost a tough one 95-94. JR Konieczny finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds while Rahmir Barno added 21 points with seven assists and five rebounds in the defeat.

As for game four, FGCU got back into the win column versus Chattanooga on Saturday. The Eagles had a 41-25 edge at halftime then cruised to a 91-73 win in the end. Tops on the team was JR Konieczny with 24 points and seven boards. Rahmir Barno added 20 points and eight assists, and Jordan Ellerbee had 14 points with four rebounds and two assists.

Samford Bulldogs Betting Preview

Over on the Samford side, they’ve been busy with five games in the bag so far. The Bulldogs opened with an 85-72 loss to Tulane though, thanks mostly to a 43-33 first half. Samford’s Jadin Booth did what he could on 34 points, three rebounds and two assists in the losing effort. The Bulldogs would get their first win in game two over South Carolina State 82-72. Booth led the team again with 26 points and six rebounds in the win. Samford kept it going in their third outing with a win over Texas Southern in overtime 93-90. Booth was tops with 23 points and nine boards, while Keaton Norris had 22 points, eight boards and five assists. Samford took their second loss to Arkansas in game four, but it was a close one 79-75. Cade Norris and Zion Wilburn each had 15 points to lead the way.

The Bulldogs beat Central Arkansas in another overtime game on Sunday 84-77. Jadin Booth led the way once again with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists. Keaton Norris added 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds in the victory.

Florida Gulf Coast vs Samford Prediction

I’ll stay with Samford. The Bulldogs haven’t been doing too badly so far this year, but they’ve got a couple of close escapes in the books. Samford didn’t shoot great (41.2 percent) and got outpaced 39-32 in rebounds by a struggling Central Arkansas team in their latest win. The 44-26 deficit on points in the paint was perhaps the most egregious stat, though. The Bulldogs are scoring great so far this year with 72 or more points in every game—buoyed by a couple of overtime appearances. That said, FGCU should be well within Samford’s abilities.
