The offense struggling that much was shocking because of how potent the offense has been overall. They want to push the pace and are averaging 78.2 points per game. The defense, however, has been awful, giving up 77.5 points per game. Eastern Kentucky has won eight of their last ten games. George Kimble II has been the top player, averaging 18 points while shooting 38 percent from the field.

Jacksonville’s Offense Has Impressed

Jacksonville’s offense has been impressive heading into this game, and they have won two games in a row. The last game came against Stetson, and they scored 79 points on the way to the triumph. They were up 44-32 at halftime, and they never looked back on the way to the victory. Jacksonville allowed Stetson to shoot 48.2 percent from the field, but the Dolphins hit seven shots from deep, which was the difference. Kendall Munson was the top player, putting up 17 points. The stats could have been even better if he had hit more than 5 of his 11 shots from the charity stripe. This game could be close, so the free throw shooting has to be better here. 

Before the last two wins, Jacksonville had lost three games in a row, and they hope that those struggles are behind them. Jacksonville’s offense has been decent, but the defense, at times, has left a little more to be desired, giving up over 70 points per game. They can’t assume their defense will be strong here, so the offense must be better. Robert McCray IV has been the top player, averaging 16.2 points while shooting 43.3 percent from the field.

These two teams just faced off last Monday, with Jacksonville winning, but don’t let that fool you; Eastern Kentucky is the better team overall. In the last game, the offense wasn’t good enough, but this offense is still averaging 78.2 points per game. Jacksonville isn’t exactly known for their defense, and they aren’t going to be as good here. Eastern Kentucky will get out to a fast start here, and they aren’t going to look back.
