Cal State Fullerton Titans Betting Preview
The Titans have had a pretty rough year so far. CSU Fullerton opened on a 2-8 run, taking losses to Grand Canyon, Stanford, Colorado, Oregon State, UCLA, Pacific, Long Beach State, and UC Riverside among wins over Idaho State and Pepperdine. A 3-1 stretch with wins over La Sierra, Denver, and Nobel came next, then losses to CSU Northridge, UC San Diego, UC Davis, Hawaii, and UC Irvine. After a win over Long Beach State, the Titans hit the skids again with losses to CSU Bakersfield, UC Santa Barbara, Hawaii, CSU Northridge, and UC Davis. That gave the Titans a 6-19 overall run through their first 25 games of the year.Â
In Thursday’s game versus Cal Poly, CSU Fullerton was down by four points in the locker room. The Titans were outscored 58-47 the rest of the way and lost the game 98-83 in the end. Keith Richard led the way with 22 points with three rebounds in 32 minutes of work.Â
Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners Betting Preview
Over on the Cal State Bakersfield side, they’ve had a pretty tough year so far as well. The Roadrunners opened the season on a 4-6 stretch with losses to California, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, Southern Utah, UC Irvine, and UC San Diego. A 4-2 stretch came next featuring wins over La Sierra, Portland, UC Davis, and Long Beach State. The next nine games were a 2-7 run with wins over only CSU Northridge and CSU Fullerton. Otherwise, it was losses to UC Santa Barbara, Hawaii, UC Riverside, Cal Poly, CSU Northridge, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Riverside in succession for a 10-15 overall record in 25 games to start the season.Â
Matched up against UC San Diego on Thursday, the Roadrunners were down 31-19 by halftime. Cal State Bakersfield didn’t get any closer on a 42-35 second half and limped to the loss 73-54. Jemel Jones led the scoring with 29 points, four rebounds, and four assists with a pair of blocks. The only other player on the team to finish in double-figures was Corey Stephenson with 10 points, eight boards, and two steals.Â

Cal State Fullerton vs Cal State Bakersfield PredictionÂ
I’ll probably stick with the Roadrunners. That said, there’s not a lot to get excited about here with both teams struggling. On Thursday CSU Bakersfield did well on the boards against UC San Diego with a 42-25 rebounding edge (18-4 offensive). The Roadrunners were pretty ugly otherwise though, posting just 36.1 percent shooting with 11 turnovers for 17 opposition points. That makes six straight losses for CSUB. They’ve been below 65 points in three of the last four games as well.Â
These teams last met up back on January 23 at Titan Gym in a 71-68 road victory for the Roadrunners. Cal State Bakersfield had a 43-35 rebounding edge, but neither team played well. Both shot poorly (under 40 percent) and there were 28 total turnovers in the game. There are plenty of things to improve upon in the home rematch, but in the end, I like the Roadrunners to power it out.Â
