The Chicago State Cougars went 13-19 last season and did not play in a conference, but will join the NEC this year. The Loyola Chicago Ramblers were 23-10 last year and they finished 15-3 in the A-10, which was first in the conference. Loyola Chicago scored 73.1 points per game and they allowed 67.5 points against per game last year. The Ramblers opened the season with a 75-62 loss against FAU, but they did get their first win in their second game against Eastern Illinois. Loyola went on a great run through conference play, but they lost in their first game of the A-10 tournament against St. Bonaventure. The Ramblers did make the NCAA Tournament, but lost their first game against Bradley. 

Loyola does return one of their leading scorers in Des Watson, who averaged 12.6 points per game, but did lose Philip Alston, who also averaged 12.6 points per game. The Ramblers have a decent amount of production coming back and they added four transfers in the offseason.
