Central Connecticut State Blue Devils Betting Preview
Central Connecticut has done a pretty good job record-wise this year—especially lately. The Blue Devils kicked things off with a 6-4 run, then beat Fairfield, Quinnipiac, Johnson & Wales RI, St. Francis PA and Mercyhurst before losses to Wagner and Long Island U. Since then it’s been one long win streak for the Blue Devils. They’ve taken out Fairleigh Dickinson, Le Moyne, Chicago State, Long Island U, Stonehill, Fairleigh Dickinson, Mercyhurst, St. Francis PA, Chicago State, Stonehill and Le Moyne in succession over the last 11 outings. That gives the Blue Devils a 22-6 record across 28 games so far this year.Â
In the Le Moyne matchup on Thursday, the Blue Devils were in trouble at the break with a 43-37 deficit. Central Connecticut stormed back in the second half on a 47-32 run, eventually taking the win 84-75. Devin Haid led the team on 18 points with nine rebounds and six assists, while Jayden Brown had 16 points with four rebounds. Abdul Momoh put up 13 points with five rebounds and three blocks over 26 minutes in the victory as well.Â
Wagner Seahawks Betting Preview
Over on the Wagner side, they’ve had a pretty up-and-down year in 2024-25, giving the team an even .500 mark on the season thus far. The Seahawks went 8-5 over their first 13 games, then hit a 1-3 stretch with a win over Central Connecticut amid losses to Chicago State, Fairleigh Dickinson and Mercyhurst. After a 3-2 run with wins over St. Francis PA (twice) and Le Moyne among losses to Mercyhurst and Stonehill, the Seahawks lost to Long Island U, Fairleigh Dickinson and Le Moyne. Since then it’s been wins over Stonehill and Chicago State before a loss to Long Island U, giving Wagner a 14-14 overall run thus far.Â
Matched up against LIU in the road rematch on Thursday, the Seahawks faced a six-point deficit at the break. Things didn’t get any better from there on a 32-25 run and Wagner lost 60-47 in the end. None of the starters managed to hit double-figures; Zavier Fitch was the closest with eight points and six rebounds in 29 minutes. Zae Blake had 14 points in 27 minutes off the bench, and Type Kelton had 10 bench points with five rebounds in the loss.Â

Central Connecticut vs Wagner PredictionÂ
I’ll take a stab on Wagner here, but I’m probably not touching this one. The Seahawks are coming off a rough loss on the road to LIU, hitting just 28.6 percent from the field with a 38-27 rebounding deficit and 10 turnovers. The good news for Wagner is that this final outing is at home; the Seahawks have played four road games in their last five appearances.Â
Also working in the Seahawks’ favor is that they managed a 62-57 road win the last time these teams saw each other back on January 10. Wagner held the Devils to just 37.3 percent shooting in that one, but Central Connecticut didn’t do themselves any favors from the line (12-of-21 for 57.1 percent). A big home push could get Wagner into a cover here.Â
