The Canisius Golden Griffins and the Dayton Flyers meet Monday in college basketball action from the UD Arena. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Canisius Golden Griffins vs. Dayton Flyers prediction.
Canisius Golden Griffins Recap
The Canisius Golden Griffins come into the 2025-26 season looking to show any signs of life after an abysmal 2024-25 season where Canisius went 3-28 including a 3-17 mark in MAAC conference play, missing out on the MAAC conference tournament after finishing in the basement. It was bad for Canisius last year and this team is still losing a ton of talent from a bad team like Paul McMillan IV, Tana Kopa and Cam Palesse. Marcus Nilback leads the horde of transfers, coming in from Jacksonville after logging 10.2 PPG, 3.7 RPG and 2.6 APG. There’s just far too many question marks to feel any sort of confidence regarding Canisius this season, but it’s hard to think that it could get any worse.
Dayton Flyers Recap
The Dayton Flyers come into the 2025-26 campaign trying to add on to their 23-11 record from last season, including a 12-6 mark in A-10 conference play. Dayton would be bounced early in the A-10 tournament by Saint Joseph’s, resulting in an invite to the NIT. Dayton would knock off FAU in the first round before falling to Chattanooga in the second round. Javon Bennett returns as Dayton’s lone double-digit scorer from last year’s team, bringing back 11.6 PPG and 2.1 APG while Keonte Jones transfers in from CSU-Northridge after logging 13.1 PPG and 9 RPG with 4.1 APG as well and Adam Njie Jr. had 12.4 PPG with 4.2 APG with Iona last year. There’s a lot of turnover for Dayton, but Anthony Grant has perennially been one of the best coaches in the A-10 so there’s not expected to really be any drop-off for Dayton here.

Canisius Golden Griffins vs. Dayton Flyers Prediction
I’m on Dayton here. It’s an absolutely massive number, but I see no way to back Canisius here. The Golden Griffins are awful, and possibly have gotten worse from a talent perspective. Dayton’s been a team that’s been up and down in these paycheck spots, but I think the Flyers blow out Canisius in this one. Give me the Flyers in a rout.
