Long Island University Sharks Betting Preview
The Sharks started out the year on a rough run, but they’ve been much better since the calendar year changed. LIU went just 4-11 in their first 15 outings though, taking wins over only Pratt, Air Force, Charlotte, and York NY in that time. Long Island U took out Le Moyne, Chicago State, Stonehill, Central Connecticut, St. Francis PA, and Mercyhurst in the next six games, then fell to St. Francis PA, Mercyhurst, Central Connecticut, and Chicago State. Since then it’s been three straight wins though, as LIU has taken out Wagner, Stonehill, and Fairleigh Dickinson in that trio. That gives the Sharks a 13-15 overall record through 28 games so far.Â
In their Saturday outing versus Fairleigh Dickinson, the Sharks were down by two points at the break. Long Island U hit a 39-33 run the rest of the way however, powering out the comeback win 62-58 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Malachi Davis with 21 points, four assists, three steals, and three rebounds. Jamal Fuller added 19 points with five boards, while Terell Strickland chipped in with nine points, five rebounds, and four assists.Â
Le Moyne Dolphins Betting Preview
Over on the Le Moyne side, they’re far below the .500 mark so far after a choppy year. The Dolphins kicked things off with a 5-8 run, taking out only SUNY Poly, TN-Martin, Manhattan, SUNY Delhi, and Dartmouth in that time. Le Moyne went just 2-5 in the next seven with losses to Notre Dame, Niagara, LIU, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Chicago State in that time. After losses to Central Connecticut, Fairleigh Dickinson, Wagner, St. Francis PA, and Mercyhurst, the Dolphins beat Wagner and Chicago State to improve to 8-19 on the year through 27 games overall.Â
Matched up against St. Francis PA on Thursday, the Dolphins fell in a tough battle. Le Moyne kept the pace in a 38-38 first half and a 28-28 second but eventually lost 81-76 following the overtime period. AJ Dancler led the way on 30 points with four rebounds and four assists, while Deng Garang added 20 points with two rebounds in 40 minutes of work in the defeat.Â

Why the LIU Sharks will win

- Le Moyne has lost the first half in three of its last four day games against the Northeast Conference.
Long Island University vs Le Moyne PredictionÂ
I’ll stay with LIU. The Sharks started a little slowly in their latest win over Fairleigh Dickinson, but everything worked out after 43.4 percent shooting and a 34-26 edge on the boards. Long Island U was very sloppy with the ball in that one though, notching 18 turnovers for 27 Knights points.Â
The last time these teams met up back on January 3, LIU secured a 78-62 victory at home. The Sharks posted 55.6 percent shooting from the field with a 33-23 rebounding advantage but weren’t so great from the line on 11-of-19 (57.9 percent) overall. Long Island U also coughed up 11 turnovers, but that paled in comparison to the 24 points they got off 14 Dolphins miscues. This is a good spot for the Sharks to keep their win streak going, and I think they’ll pull it off.Â
