Seattle Redhawks Betting Preview
The Redhawks have had a choppy season so far, and they’re mired below .500 in the record column. Seattle kicked things off with a 5-10 run in their first 15 games. The losses in that time were versus Eastern Washington, Liberty, Cal Poly, Furman, Duke, UTEP, Western Kentucky, UIC, Nicholls, and Cal Baptist. After three straight wins over Abilene Christian, Utah Tech, and Southern Utah, the Redhawks hit a 2-4 run. Those wins were over only Tarleton State and Texas Arlington. Otherwise, it was losses to Texas Arlington, Utah Valley, Grand Canyon, and Abilene Christian in that time. That gives the Texans a 10-14 overall run through 24 games.Â
In the Abilene Christian road rematch back on Thursday, the Redhawks came out of the first half sporting a 40-26 deficit. Seattle was outscored 35-33 from there, ultimately failing to get closer in a 75-59 loss. Leading the team in scoring was Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe with 18 points, five boards, and two steals in 26 minutes on the floor. The only other team player to reach double figures was Malek Gomma with 11 points and six boards off the bench.Â
Tarleton State Texans Betting Preview
Over on the Tarleton State side, they’ve really only had one good run of games this year. The Texans opened the year on a 3-10 stretch featuring losses to SMU, Sam Houston, Florida State, Baylor, Michigan, Iona, Indiana State, UCF, UTEP and Oklahoma State in that time. Four wins over Howard Payne, Florida A&M, Texas Arlington, and Southern Utah followed, and since then it’s been a 3-6 run. The wins in that time have come over Cal Baptist, Utah Tech, and Southern Utah. Otherwise, it’s been losses to Utah Tech, Grand Canyon, Abilene Christian, Seattle U, Utah Valley, and Grand Canyon again. That gives Tarleton State a 10-16 overall run through the first 26 games of the season so far.Â
Matched up against Grand Canyon again on Thursday, the Texans were down by seven at halftime. Tarleton State fought back on a 30-27 run but fell just short in a 64-60 loss. Both Jordan Mizell (six rebounds; two steals) and Izzy Miles (three rebounds; two assists) led the starters with 15 points apiece. Tops on the team in scoring was Dantwan Grimes with his 16 points, six rebounds, six steals, and six assists in 37 minutes of work off the bench.Â

Seattle vs Tarleton State PredictionÂ
I’ll take a stab at the Texans. Probably not touching it, though; there’s not a lot to like about this matchup. I also wish the line was thicker. Tarleton State managed to hang with a good Grand Canyon team in their last outing, thanks mostly to 22 points off 22 Lopes turnovers. Otherwise, it wasn’t a spectacular effort. The Texans really need to find some scoring. They’ve been below 61 points in three straight.Â
The Texans lost badly the last time these teams met up, falling 91-54 in a road matchup on February 6. Tarleton State shot just 38.3 percent from the field with 12 turnovers for 20 Redhawks points in that one. It’s going to take a big turnaround in order to compete in the home rematch, but it’s possible if the Texans clean a few things up. I’m staying away, though.
