Appalachian State Mountaineers Betting Preview
App State started out as a very mixed bag in the record column, however they’ve looked pretty good since the calendar flipped over to 2025. The Mountaineers opened on a 5-2 run with wins over St. Andrews, Queens, U, William & Mary, Sam Houston, and Colgate, then fell to UNC Wilmington, High Point, Louisiana, North Texas, and Troy over the next six games. Since then Appalachian State has gone a nice 9-2 over an 11-game span. The losses came versus Arkansas State and Old Dominion. Otherwise, it was wins over Texas State, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, Old Dominion, James Madison again, LA Monroe, Georgia State, Southern Miss, and Ohio. That gives the Mountaineers a 15-9 run through their first 24 games this year.Â
In the Ohio game on Saturday, the Mountaineers were down by six points going into the second half. App State surged in the second half on a 44-25 run and took the eventual win 72-59 in the end. Myles Tate led the team with 27 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Dior Conners added 14 points with one assist and one steal, while Jalil Beaubrun had 11 points with two rebounds in 24 minutes of action during the victory.Â
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Betting Preview
Over on the Coastal Carolina side, they were above .500 early this year but they’ve hit the skids since then. The Chanticleers lost to East Carolina, NC State, and Jacksonville State in their first four games, then hit a 7-4 run over the next 11 outings. Those wins came versus IUPUI, USC Upstate, Campbell, Southern Virginia, North Carolina A&T, Warner University, and LA Monroe. Since then Coastal Carolina has lost 10 straight games. Those losses have come versus App State, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Marshall, Georgia Southern, Old Dominion, James Madison, Marshall, South Alabama, and Bowling Green. All of that adds up to an 8-17 opening run through the first 25 games for the Chanticleers so far.Â
Matched up against Bowling Green in their Saturday outing, the Chanticleers were down 33-21 in the locker room. Coastal Carolina didn’t get any closer on a 34-32 second half and lost 67-53 in the end to keep their losing streak intact. The team’s only double-digit scorer was Joshua Meo, who notched 13 points with four rebounds and one steal during the defeat.Â

Appalachian State vs Coastal Carolina PredictionÂ
I’ll stick with the Mountaineers. App State started pretty slowly in their latest win over Ohio, but really got it going in the second half. The Mountaineers ended up shooting 48.1 percent from the field with 31 rebounds and just nine turnovers in a pretty solid overall performance. That gives App State three straight wins with 72 or more points in two of them.Â
Back on January 8 when these teams last met up, App State powered out a convincing 74-5t1 home victory. The Mountaineers shot fairly well (44.6 percent) from the field in that one while holding Coastal Carolina to just 34.6 percent shooting on the other side. The 40-33 rebounding advantage and 14 points off 11 Chanticleers turnovers helped as well. App State should have just about every advantage here as well, even in a road matchup.Â
