Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders Betting Preview
The Islanders have had a few choppy runs this year but overall they’re not doing too badly. Texas A&M-CC hit a 7-6 opening run through the first 13 outings, beating Dallas Christian, Tennessee Martin, Le Moyne, Texas Lutheran, Prairie View, Stephen F. Austin, and Southwestern Adventist. Since then it’s been an 8-3 stretch with losses to Houston Christian, McNeese State, and UT Rio Grande Valley. The wins otherwise have come versus Schreiner, SE Louisiana, New Orleans, UTRGV, Northwestern State, Incarnate Word, Nicholls, and East Texas A&M. The result so far has been a 15-9 run through the first 24 games of the season.Â
In the East Texas A&M matchup back on Monday, the Islanders opened up on a 41-27 run in the first half. Texas A&M-CC scored 37 more points after the break and ended up taking the victory in the end 78-66. Isaac Williams put up 12 points with three rebounds and seven assists, while Garry Clark had 11 points with three steals and two rebounds.Â
Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Betting Preview
Over on the Lumberjacks’ side, they’ve been fighting off the .500 mark for most of the season—and failing at it lately. Stephen F Austin went 8-8 over their first 16 outings, losing to Drake, Arkansas State, Presbyterian, UTRGV, Texas A&M-CC, Oregon, Incarnate Word, and Houston Christian during that time. It’s been a 2-5 run for the Lumberjacks since then. The two wins were over East Texas A&M and New Orleans. Otherwise, it was losses to SE Louisiana, Nicholls, McNeese, Northwestern State, and Lamar, giving Stephen F Austin a 10-13 record through their first 23 outings of the 2024-25 season.Â
Matched up against New Orleans in their Monday game, the Lumberjacks hit a 35-29 deficit in the first half. Stephen F Austin came back in the second to force overtime and eventually won it in dramatic fashion 88-85. Texas A&M-CC vs Stephen F Austin PredictionÂ
I’ll stay with the Islanders in this one. Texas A&M-CC is coming off a pretty routine win versus a struggling East Texas A&M squad, shooting a very nice 58.8 percent from the field with 26 rebounds and 22 team assists. The 12 turnovers for 17 Lions points were just about the only blemish in that victory. The Islanders have scored 73 or more points in three straight games now, but they’ve only managed to win one of those.Â
The last time these teams met up back on December 7, Texas A&M-CC took a decisive win 67-48 at home. I don’t think the rematch will be quite so lopsided but the Isles should still have the advantage.Â
