Colorado State Rams Betting Preview
The Rams really only have one bad stretch in the books this year. Otherwise, it’s been a pretty great run. Colorado State won their first three outings, then hit a 2-5 run with losses to Ole Miss, UC Riverside, Washington, Colorado, and VCU among wins over TCU and Loyola Marymount. The Rams recovered on a 5-1 run with a lone loss to New Mexico mixed into wins over Radford, Nevada, San Jose State, Fresno State, and UNLV. After another loss to San Diego State, Colorado State hit another win streak over Wyoming, Boise State, Fresno State, and Air Force. So far that gives the Rams a 14-7 overall record through the first 21 games this year.
In the Air Force matchup last Tuesday, the Rams entered the locker room with a slim 38-37 edge. Colorado State got it going from there on a 41-21 run and took the victory in the end 79-58. Leading the team in scoring was Nique Clifford with 22 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals for a double-double. Jalen Lake added 14 points with two rebounds and two steals, while Jaylen Crocker-Johnson had 13 points with four rebounds in 16 minutes.
New Mexico Lobos Betting Preview
Over on the New Mexico side, they’ve been a remarkably consistent team this year with no instances of consecutive losses just yet. The Lobos kicked things off with a 7-3 run featuring wins over Nicholls, UCLA, Texas A&M-CC, Grambling, Texas Southern, USC, and San Jose State in that time. New Mexico hit a winning streak over Western New Mexico, VCU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, Wyoming, and San Diego State from there, then took a loss to San Jose State on January 14. Since then it’s been four straight wins over Boise State, Fresno State, UNLV, and Utah State, giving the Lobos a nice 18-4 overall run through 22 games.
In the Utah State matchup over the weekend, the Lobos were down 36-30 going into the second half. New Mexico woke up from there though, hitting a 52-27 run on the way to a comeback win 82-63. Mustapha Amzil led the team with 16 points and three rebounds, while Nelly Junior Joseph doubled up on 15 points with 13 rebounds and one assist. Donovan Dent chipped in with 14 points, four rebounds, and six assists as well.

Colorado State vs New Mexico Prediction
I’ll stay with the Lobos here. New Mexico is looking good these days, and coming off a dominant road win (despite a slow start) versus a talented Utah State squad. In that one, the Lobos ended up shooting 48.3 percent from the field with a 48-33 rebounding edge. Just about the only blemish was the 15 turnovers for 13 Aggies points; otherwise, it was a pretty excellent game statistically. The Lobos are looking good during this four-game win streak. They’ve notched 75 or more points in all four games and 82 or more in three of them.
The last time these teams met up was back on December 28 in a 76-68 road win for the Lobos. In that one, New Mexico shot a smooth 49.2 percent from the field but did get outmuscled on the boards 35-32. The Lobos gave up 12 turnovers for 12 Rams points, but Colorado State in turn coughed up 17 turnovers for 16 New Mexico points as well. New Mexico should have every advantage in the home rematch.
Andrew’s Pick New Mexico Lobos -8.5
