Binghamton Bearcats Betting Preview
Binghamton had a really nice run going back in December. Outside of that, however, it’s been a real struggle to find any victories. The Bearcats opened on a 2-6 stretch that featured losses to Penn State, Miami, Fordham, Longwood, Central Connecticut, and Niagara with wins over SUNY-Oneonta and Misericordia otherwise. A win streak ensued over the next six games versus Long Island U, Lafayette, Le Moyne, Lancaster Bible College, Mercyhurst, and Army. It’s been a rough 1-5 stretch since then for the Bearcats, though. They’ve got one win over UMBC in that time with losses otherwise to Marist, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Albany. The result has been a 9-11 overall record through the first 20 games of the season for Binghamton.
Last weekend versus Albany, the Bearcats were within one point at the break. Binghamton fell further behind on a 37-33 run from there, however, ultimately losing 70-65 in the end. Leading the team in scoring with a double-double was Tymu Chenery with 23 points and 11 boards alongside a pair of assists. Nehemiah Benson added 10 points with four rebounds as well.
Bryant Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Bryant side, they’ve had a couple of solid runs this year but they’re also having problems staying consistent in the record books. The Bulldogs beat Dean College, Buffalo, Delaware, Tennessee State, Drexel, and Vermont State Johnson during a 6-5 opening. The losses otherwise came versus Siena, Stonehill, St. Bonaventure, Chattanooga, and Brown during that time. After a four-game losing streak versus St. John’s, Fordham, Towson, and Grand Canyon, the Bulldogs beat Maine, Vermont, Albany, and UMass Lowell in the next quartet for a 10-9 overall record through the first 19 games of the season.
Matched up against New Hampshire on Thursday, the Bulldogs were comfortably ahead 41-30 by the end of the first half. Bryant cruised the rest of the way on a 54-46 run and took the eventual victory 95-76 in the end. Tops in scoring was Connor Withers with 27 points, seven boards, and five assists. Both Barry Evans (eight rebounds; three steals; three blocks) and Rafael Pinzon (five rebounds; five assists) notched 18 points apiece as well.
Why the Bryant Bulldogs will win
- Bryant has won each of its last six day games at Chace Athletic Center.
- Binghamton has lost each of its last four road games.
Binghamton vs Bryant Prediction
I’ll lean toward Bryant. The Bulldogs kept their train rolling on Thursday with another win, this time over a struggling New Hampshire squad. Bryant hit 49.3 percent from the field in that one along with a perfect 12-of-12 from the line and 11-of-28 (39.3 percent) from outside. The only real blemish came from the 42-36 rebounding deficit, but the 24 points off 13 Wildcats turnovers more than made up for it. That makes five straight wins for the Bulldogs, who have scored 73 or more points in each of those outings—and 81 or more points in four of them.
As for Binghamton, they had some good and some bad in their latest loss to a middling Albany team. The good included 48 percent shooting from the field and 29 rebounds. The bad included 17 turnovers for 21 Danes points. Binghamton has given up 70 or more points in five straight games now (a 1-4 run), so Bryant shouldn’t have too many issues scoring on Saturday.
