South Florida Bulls Betting Preview
The Bulls have been a fairly erratic team so far this year. To their credit, however, USF does have a few solid runs of quality play in the bag. South Florida opened on a 5-3 stretch with wins over AR-Pine Bluff, West Georgia, Portland, Wright State, and Stetson alongside losses to Florida, Charleston, and Middle Tennessee. Following three straight losses to Loyola Chicago, Utah State, and Bethune Cookman, the Bulls beat East Texas A&M, Webber International, East Carolina, and Wichita State in the next quartet. Since then the Bulls have lost to Tulane and UAB ahead of a win over Tulsa along the way to a 10-8 overall record through 18 games.
In the Tulsa matchup over the weekend, the Bulls entered the second half holding a 30-25 deficit. South Florida turned it on from there, posting a 38-26 run on the way to a 63-56 comeback victory in the end. Leading the team in scoring was CJ Brown with 16 points, five steals, and five rebounds in 29 minutes of work. Kobe Knox came off the bench for 12 points, and De’Ante Green had 11 points with eight boards in 20 minutes off the pine. Jayden Reid also finished in double-digits with 11 points and five rebounds.
Charlotte 49ers Betting Preview
Over on the 49ers’ side, they posted a reasonable run through their first dozen games of the season. Since late December however, Charlotte has struggled mightily during a lengthy losing stretch. The 49ers posted wins over Presbyterian, Richmond, Gardner-Webb, Livingston, Georgia State, West Georgia, and Murray State during a 7-5 opening run. The losses otherwise came versus Utah State, Long Island U, East Tennessee State, Davidson, and Hawaii. Charlotte has since recorded losses in seven straight outings. The 49ers have fallen to Charleston, Tulane, Rice, Florida Atlantic, Tulsa, Wichita State, and Memphis during that time, giving them a 7-12 overall record through their first 19 outings of the year so far.
Matched up against Memphis on Sunday, the 49ers were trailing significantly 41-25 by halftime. Charlotte hit a 43-36 run the rest of the way but couldn’t make the comeback in a 77-68 loss. Leading the team in scoring during the defeat was Jaehshon Thomas with 18 points, three boards, and three steals. Giancarlo Rosado added 12 points with seven boards and four assists, while Kylan Blackmon put up 12 points with four rebounds in 40 minutes.

Why the South Florida Bulls will win
- Charlotte has lost each of its last seven games against the American Athletic Conference.
- South Florida has won each of its last seven road night games against Conference opponents.
- South Florida has won the first half in each of its last five road games against Conference opponents.
South Florida vs Charlotte Prediction
I’ll stay with USF. The Bulls do need a good performance here, however, as they’ve been posting some pretty ugly numbers over the last few outings. South Florida shot just 35.5 percent from the field and 2-of-18 (11.1 percent) from outside in their latest win over Tulsa. The 46-39 rebounding edge and 20 points off 15 Hurricane turnovers helped spur the victory, though. USF had given up 69 or more points in four straight games (a 2-2 run) prior to that outing, so they’ll need to watch themselves on defense in this one.
That said, Charlotte hasn’t been able to crack 68 points in six straight games so this could be exactly the matchup South Florida needs right now. I like the Bulls to pull it off in the end.
