New Orleans Privateers Betting Preview
It’s been a tough year so far for the Privateers, as the wins have been few and far between. New Orleans hasn’t been able to string together consecutive victories yet, either. The Privateers opened on a 2-4 stretch, taking out only Lindenwood and Tulane amid losses to Kansas State, Troy, Stonehill, and Robert Morris otherwise. A lengthy losing streak began in late November, featuring defeats courtesy of Baylor, Nicholls, Iowa, Texas, LSU, McNeese, Vanderbilt, UT Rio Grande Valley, Texas A&M-CC, and SE Louisiana. New Orleans finally stopped the bleeding with a win over Lamar, giving them a 3-14 record through 17 games.
In the Lamar matchup back on Monday, the Privateers entered the second half holding a 35-35 tie. New Orleans posted a 33-27 run the rest of the way, powering out the victory 68-62 in the end. Tops in scoring among the starters was Dae Dae Hunter with his 12 points and two rebounds. Next was James White with 11 points, seven boards, and three assists. Jamond Vincent added 11 points with four rebounds off the bench, and Kohen Rowbatham chipped in 10 points with one rebound and three assists in 34 minutes.
East Texas A&M Lions Betting Preview
Over on the East Texas A&M side, they’ve had an even more difficult time finding wins this year. Over their first dozen outings, the Lions managed victories over only Southern and Abilene Christian (by a combined three points). Otherwise, it was losses to Iowa, South Dakota, Texas A&M, UConn, Oklahoma, Stonehill, Fort Wayne, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, and South Alabama. Since then it’s been five straight losses to South Florida, McNeese, Nicholls, Northwestern State, and UT Rio Grande Valley for a 2-15 record in the first 17 games so far.
Matched up against UTRGV in their Monday game, the Lions went into the locker room with a 27-26 edge. East Texas A&M finished on a 31-28 deficit, however, eventually falling 57-55 in a tough result. The only player in double-figures there was Tay Mosher with 11 points and four boards. TJ Thomas chipped in nine points with five rebounds, and KC Ugwauakazi had eight points with five boards, two steals, and one assist in 11 minutes on the court.

New Orleans vs East Texas A&M Prediction
I’ll lean New Orleans here, but I’m not touching it. You’d be hard-pressed to find a less intriguing game on the schedule on Saturday—that said, it should at least be competitive. The Privateers took out a decent Lamar team in their last outing, shooting 43.3 percent from the field with a 43-37 rebounding edge. The 15 turnovers didn’t help, but that was about the only real statistical anomaly. New Orleans has now scored 68 or more points in three straight games, so if they can reach that threshold here the Privateers should be in good shape.
As for East Texas A&M, they get credit for staying close to UTRGV in their last outing but they’ve also been below 68 points in five straight. I’m not thrilled about the Lions’ chances here (or anywhere really).
