Brown Bears Betting Preview
The Bears got off to a pretty rough start this year, but they’ve cleaned up their proverbial act since mid-November. Brown took a 1-3 record across their first four games, beating New Hampshire with losses otherwise versus Siena, Maine, and Holy Cross in that time. The Bears would then catch fire with wins over Sacred Heart, Canisius, Stony Brook, Vermont, Bryant, and Rhode Island in the next six games. A couple of losses in two tough matchups against Kansas and Kentucky came after that, then a win over Johnson & Wales Rhode Island ensued for an 8-5 overall record through 13 games this year for the Bears.
Matched up against Johnson & Wales RI back on Sunday, the Bears didn’t have too many issues. After a 40-29 run in the first half, Brown hit a 58-28 stretch the rest of the way for a 98-57 victory in the end. Leading the team in scoring during the win was Kino Lilly with 16 points, and N’famara Dabo doubled up with 12 points, 10 boards and one assist alongside two blocks. Tops off the bench was David Rochester with 11 points and eight rebounds.
Yale Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Yale side, they’ve got a handful of decent wins this year but they’ve barely been able to keep themselves above .500 in the record column so far. The Bulldogs kicked off the year on a 4-3 run with losses to UIC, Purdue, and Minnesota mixed with wins over Quinnipiac, Emerson, Stony Brook, and Fairfield. Since then it’s been a 3-3 stretch over the last six games. The wins in that time came versus Vermont, Akron, and Howard. Otherwise, it was losses to Delaware, Rhode Island, and UTEP in that time for a 7-6 overall run this season.
In the Howard game on New Year’s Day, the Bulldogs entered the second half with a commanding 51-27 edge. Yale didn’t let up in the second, riding a 42-38 advantage toward a victory 93-65 in the end. Leading scorer Samson Aletan put up 19 points and five rebounds with two blocks in 19 minutes. John Poulakidas added 17 points with seven rebounds and three assists, while Nick Townsend had 14 points, four rebounds, and one assist in the win.

Brown vs Yale Prediction
I’ll try Brown in this one. The Bears didn’t have too many issues versus an overmatched Jonson & Wales team in their last outing, rolling to 53.6 percent shooting with 44 rebounds and 20 points off 16 turnovers. The foul shooting wasn’t spectacular (10-of-16) but that was about the only blemish. Brown had put up just 107 combined points in extremely difficult games versus Kansas and Kentucky in the two outings prior to that, so the 98-point total was nice to see. The Bears likely won’t reach those lofty heights here, but should score well.
As for Yale, they shot a nice 54.1 percent from the field with 35 rebounds and 24 assists in their latest win over Howard. The Bulldogs have put up 74 or more points in three straight games, and they’re 3-1 in their last four. Yale should make things interesting here, and it’ll be a fun matchup overall. I like Brown to eke one out in the end, though.
