Over on the Providence side, they beat Central Connecticut, Stonehill, Hampton, Green Bay, and Delaware State in their first five. The Friars have since lost to Oklahoma, Davidson, and Indiana in the last three.
On Friday in the Indiana game, the Friars went into the break with a 10-point deficit. Providence didn’t get any closer from there in an 89-73 defeat. Jayden Pierre was the top team scorer with 22 points and six assists.

BYU vs Providence Prediction
I’ll probably stay with BYU. The Cougars notched a nice all-around win over NC State in their last game. BYU hit 42.4 percent from the field in that one with a 45-32 rebounding advantage and 17 team assists. The 14 turnovers didn’t help, but the Cougars did get some solid minutes for key bench players. That makes 72 or more points in all seven games so far for BYU.
As for Providence, they didn’t shoot very well (39.1 percent) versus Indiana in their latest loss but did well on the offensive glass (17) and had just seven turnovers. The Friars have given up 69 or more points in each installment of this three-game losing streak after surrendering 65 or fewer in their first five. BYU is probably good enough offensively to finish in the 70s here if all goes well.
