In this article we will formulate an Argonauts vs Tiger-Cats prediction for this CFL game on Saturday, July 18th at Hamilton Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this CFL matchup.

Toronto Argonauts Betting Preview

The Toronto Argonauts are 2-3 this season after they lost to the Blue Bombers by a score of 30-21 last week. Toronto trailed 19-7 at halftime, but only trailed 19-14 in the fourth, before they allowed 11 points in the final quarter to seal the loss. The Argonauts were out gained by a total of 406-351, went 7-17 on second downs, and won the turnover battle by a total of 3-1 in the game. Chad Kelly threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns, while Makai Polk caught four passes for 125 yards and one score. Samuel Hicks rushed six times for 30 yards and one touchdown in the loss.

Prior to that game, Toronto lost to the Stampeders by a score of 58-36 and defeated the Lions by a score of 41-33, and they are currently tied for second in the East Division. The Argonauts have scored 34.2 points per game with 380.6 passing yards and 81.8 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 36.6 points against per game this season. Chad Kelly has thrown for 1,804 yards, 14 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, while Kevin Mital has 24 catches for 392 yards and one touchdown. Samuel Hicks has rushed 45 times for 267 yards and two scores this season.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Betting Preview

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are 2-3 this year after they lost to the Roughriders by a score of 38-7 in week six. Hamilton trailed 11-7 at halftime, but they were outscored 27-0 in the second half in the lopsided loss. The Tiger-Cats were out gained by a total of 342-250, went 8-25 on second downs, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 4-2 in the game. Jake Dolegala threw for 122 yards and one interception, while Kiondre Smith caught five passes for 56 yards. Larry Rountree rushed nine times for 36 yards in the game.

Prior to that loss, Hamilton lost to the Blue Bombers by a score of 14-13 and defeated the Lions by a score of 41-27, and they are currently tied for second in the East Division. The Tiger-Cats have scored 29.6 points per game with 257.6 passing yards and 86.0 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 27.2 points against per game this season. Tre Ford has thrown for 59 yards and one interception, while Kiondre Smith has 25 receptions for 385 yards and three scores. Larry Rountree has rushed 67 times for 290 yards this year.

Argonauts vs Tiger-Cats Prediction

Hamilton comes into this matchup looking for answers at the quarterback position, as Bo Levi Mitchell is injured and Dolegala played poorly last week. The Tiger-Cats will start Tre Ford at quarterback this week, who has plenty of experience. Toronto has an elite offensive attack, but their defense has been atrocious. The Argonauts have allowed 30, 58, 34, 24, and 37 points in their first five games, so I think Ford could find some success in this one. I think we will see plenty of scoring and I like the over here.

David Racey's Pick: Over 55.5
