In this article we will formulate a Argonauts vs Alouettes prediction for this CFL game on Friday, June 12th at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in Montreal, Quebec. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this CFL matchup.

Toronto Argonauts Betting Preview

The Toronto Argonauts went 5-13 last season and they finished with 10 points, which was third in the East Division, 12 points behind first place. Toronto scored 497 points last year, while they allowed 583 points against. The Argonauts started the season with three straight losses and they were just 2-8 through ten games. Toronto did put a three game winning streak together after the rough start, but they finished the season by losing five straight. The Argonauts really struggled on defense all season, as they allowed 27 points or more 10 of their last 11 games.

This season, Toronto will have Chad Kelly back under center, but he missed all of 2025 with an injury. Kelly started his career playing very well, so it will be interesting to see how he bounces back from injury. The running back room doesn’t have much experience, but the receivers and offensive line should be fine. On defense, Toronto is led by a great group of linebackers, but the whole unit has to be better than last season.

Montreal Alouettes Betting Preview

The Montreal Alouettes are 1-0 this year after they defeated the Tiger-Cats by a score of 30-27 in overtime last week. Montreal trailed 17-10 at halftime and 24-17 in the fourth quarter, but they were able to force overtime and get the narrow win. The Alouettes out gained Hamilton by a total of 401-339, went 10-21 on second down, and won the turnover battle 2-0. Davis Alexander threw for 336 yards and two touchdowns, while Tyler Snead caught nine passes for 163 yards and one score in the game.

The Alouettes went 10-8 last season and they finished with 20 points, which was second in the East Division behind Hamilton. The Alouettes scored 445 points in the season and they allowed 430. Montreal started the season with three straight wins and they were 5-2 through seven games, but they had some injuries and lost five straight, before finishing the season strong. The Alouettes defeated the Blue Bombers and Tiger-Cats in the playoffs, before losing to the Roughriders in the Grey Cup.

Argonauts vs Alouettes Prediction

Montreal comes into this matchup looking to start the season with a 2-0 record, but they need to play better defense than they did last week. Toronto is playing their first game of the season and they will look to bounce back after a horrible 2025. The Argonauts should be better with Kelly back at quarterback, but it also may take some time for him to find a rhythm. I think Montreal is the better team and I definitely like Alexander at quarterback, but this is a lot of points to lay against a team that is looking to prove a point after last year. Take the points with Toronto here.

David Racey's Pick: Argonauts +6.5
